I almost always use swiffers wet mops, but I'm sure it doesn't do a fabulous job and Im totally out right now. Im considering a good old fashioned hands and knees approach, but feel like I would need to change the water every 5 feet. Are my floors just nasty or am I overreacting? How often do you change the water? And what do you put In it, if anything?
I have a shark steam mop and I love it. It steam cleans and has a spot to pop in a bottle of cleaning solution to spray the tough spots. Then I just remove the pad and wash with bleach on the sanitize cycle in my washer. Easy peasy!
I usually just use the swiffer. I also have these awesome mop things my grandmother gave me that work fantastic. A few times a year I scrub the floors old school on my hands and knees.

I read this a Moping the floors, lol.
For me I only feel like the floor is clean if I use a mop and bucket, but I do change the water out for the kitchen and bathroom. I like plain old Pine Sol.

I have a Hoover floor mate which works amazingly on deep cleaning hardwoods. I do it 2xs a week (we also do shoes off in either mud room or by front door so our floors never get that dirty).
Ugh our entry opens to our kitchen and dining room and we have a dog. It kind of comes in on both ends of the room. I'm mostly just feeling like I need to clean and I guess regular vinegar and water will have to do this time arou fx fwiw I haven't done this in the three years we've lived here.
I use a wet swiffer and use Honest brand floor cleaner/spray every few days and sweep the kitchen pretty frequently - at least every other day. Floors are pretty clean, it's mostly dust and crumbs I need to get cleaned up. We are a no shoes house and have a door by the kitchen that leads to the backyard where most of the dirt is tracked in. I have a rug there that I toss in the wash pretty frequently. The floor gets mopped every other week by our cleaning lady - she uses a swiffer type contraption and some sort of eco green cleaner (or is supposed to anyway). We lost our dog but when she was with us she never tracked much dirt in, but I swept more frequently because of her hair.
