The only memory I can come up with right now was from older elementary; it's of the kids betting on who was going to make out with whom at the back of the bus on the ride home.
We take our student to a pioneer village and they do crazy stuff like that. It's a lot of fun!
My favorite field trip was probably track and field day. I really enjoyed that in 5th grade. I didn't do well, but it was fun to go play at the track all day!
I remember going to see the play The wind in the Willows and everyone fell asleep and couldn't stop talking about how boring it was. I loved it but pretended I had hated it too

We went on an all day trip to the coast in 4th grade, and stopped at the Tillamook dairy. They gave us a tour, and at the end took us into this back room where we all got ice cream cones. Until recently (like a year or two ago) I thought that that was just a part of the standard tour. We took our kids on a tour and I was kind of ticked that they didn't offer any free ice cream. I complained to my mom, and she clued me in that all the chaperones had pooled their money and bought us all ice cream cones.
In 6th grade the big thing in our district was a 2 night camping trip - technically in rustic cabins, but in the middle of the pine barrens. Me & my girls scout- outdoor loving friends, loved it, but it wass too funny seeing the more "city kids" squeal and screech about everything. We went on a "swamp" walk and did fun team building stuff.

I remember going to the Roger Williams zoo. And it felt like the bus ride was the longest thing I had ever been forced to endure. In reality, it was like an hour.
I don't remember many. Beauty and the Beast (play) in third grade. The science museum in high school. Schindler's List in 10th grade (honor's German). I don't think we did many field trips!!
My schools had awesome field trips! In fourth grade we went up into the mountains where our class had a day where we were gold miners. We panned for gold in a stream (there were little "gold" nuggets), had hand churned ice cream, made lanterns by nailing designs into tin cans. It was awesome. Another favorite was eight grade trip to Yosemite. It was four or five days of hiking, spelunking, sleeping in cabins with my friends talking about boys and screaming about bears and mice, bonfires, amazing waterfalls, meals at the lodge, the bus ride there - it was all so much fun.
