A while ago, an older lady from the community that I grew up in asked to friend me on Facebook, so I did. This weekend was my DS birthday. On my Facebook wall, this lady posted a happy birthday message to my son, with his name and age. I didn't post anything about his birthday on Facebook. I very rarely post on Facebook, no where do I have any birth dates listed. I'm very doubtful/almost impossible that she spoke to my dad and got that information.
I'm kind of curious if there is some sort of weird Facebook app, that you can get that info or did this lady have to do some serious investigating?
Would she have known when he was born originally? Some people are just birthday people and write it down when babies are born. Or did you post a birth announcement on FB when he was born? She could have done back and looked.
I did put a picture of him when he was born, 4 years ago. She has only been on my Facebook a couple of months. She knew me when I was little, and it was only really in passing. I find it odd that someone I barely know would even bother would go to the extent of writing that down.
Maybe when you became FB friends she went through your previous posts to sort of catch up on what you'd done, then made a note of it when she saw the birth post? That wouldn't be "too" creepy, some people just like to say happy birthday to everyone they know...?
I'm sorry you're creeped out. It does sort of sound like an "old lady" kinda thing to do. I'm with pp...she prob caught up on FB and noted his birthday.
