We might get a membership to an outdoor club. I would use it almost every day in the summer. They have a masters team, lap swim time, open swim times, etc.

We do. DH swims 4 times a week in a master's class and loves it. He cares a lot about the coach for the class, the temperature of the pool, and the amenities for the rest of the family (restaurant, changing facilities, etc). He also values the professional connections he makes with the other swimmers.
We have a Y membership for our family that we use only for the pool services. DH plans to join their masters program when he is done with school this summer. My kids use it for the open swim, and splash pad. DD1 and DH use it for the lap swim, and he coaches her a little on her turns and starts.
ETA - forgot to mention that DD1 does belong to the local swim club as well, and swims for their team. But she is 7 and doesn't really have any "preferences". She just likes her coaches and swimming
We belong to the neighborhood pool, which is great with the kids in the summer. We tend to have happy hour Fridays where we will bring wine and beer, apps and maybe order a pizza. Pus ours does have does plan events, including some just for the adults.
We belong to a neighbourhood outdoor pool. It's one of two community-owned outdoor pools in our city, as opposed to city-owned and run. Last year was our first year and it was so fun. They have lessons in the mornings and free swim in the afternoons. In the evenings they have swim team and then an adult lane swim. Our girls are too young for swim team right now, but they might do it in the future.
They also have a bunch of social stuff. Opening and closing parties, movie nights and every Sunday they have a BBQ available for people to use. It's a great way to meet people in the neighbourhood and I can't wait until the girls are older and they can swim by themselves while we lay in the lounge chairs.
This exactly, lol. Funny how it is the same structure.
We do, we were Y members, but ours only has an indoor pool. We like that ours has a seperate fenced in kids pool/splash pad, so even with fairly little kids you can at least sit for a bit and not have to always be in the pool. They also have a pretty good snack bar/restaurant, and menus available at the front to order takeout, they just call you over the PA when the delivery person arrives. They also have adult nights where they have a DJ and you can BYOB.
I wish! We are out of the membership zone for the closest one to us and even if we lived next door the waitlist is 10+ years. Are you sure there's not a long waitlist to join yours? Outdoor pools are so rare in Seattle that they are in super high demand.
We did just join an athletic club with two indoor pools and we had a great time swimming with the girls yesterday. Outdoor would be so great for the summer though!
Which one? This sounds awesome! Does it have daycare?

Mine is very similar.
One thing I really like is the swim team stuff is all done in the morning, so the pool is open for all members/free swim after 1pm and is open well into the evening.
Nope. But funny thing is, H and his friends have a "swim team." They sneak in to fancy hotels in Downtown LA and use their pools. They made shits and everything.
now that H has a job, I'm considering getting a family membership to the Y down the street. I had a Y membership for a few years for myself and loved it. They have both indoor and outdoor pools. They're open really early and really late, too.

Olympic Athletic Club! It's awesome. We have been members off and on for years. They did a huge reno in the past couple of years and it's very fancy now lol. The pools are great! Yes, they have great child care and family memberships ($150/month) come with 10 free hours of child care per month and then it's $3 per month after that.
Ugh. I wish we were a little closer. Ours is only $55 for family and unlimited childcare, but no swimming pool. And, you know, it's on Aurora. Lots of entertainment both in and outside.

This one doesn't have a waiting list! I am so surprised, and we went to look at it and it's just perfect for our needs!

We have a pool...
Updates spreadsheet...I may pee in a pool, occasionally, but this is too far!!
I wish! That's one of the only things I found lacking in our current neighborhood.
Growing up, we had a neighborhood pool, similar to how others have described them. As a kid, I did swim team in the mornings and would ride my bike back in the afternoon to swim and hang out with friends. I loved it so much!
We do. I swim at the Y in the winter for MAster's but our summer pool has workouts too. My kids are on the dive team. We are there at least 5x a week during the summer if not more. Sometimes we go twice - once in the morning for practice and stay for a bit and then go back in the evening when DH gets home. My one DD wants to try the swim team again this summer (They swam before but when she was 5). We have a lot of different social events - for kids, families, and adult nights. I actually joined the Board of Directors this past year and now my annual membership is paid for - woo hoo. Not much, but I enjoy our pool and want to be a part of making it better.
We belong to a pool. Last summer was our first and I'm so glad we joined. to what jennyanddots said- ours is similar. Lots of social events and what not. It's not our neighborhood pool but there are 4 families from our neighborhood that belong so we hang out with them.
Our pool is also pretty laid back. We went to a few pools the previous summer and one in particular is what we called "the rules pool". There were SO MANY rules. ANd the layout actually sucked. The pool we joined- not as strict and it's actually a pretty small pool and we liked the layout. The kiddie pool is right by the shallow end of the main pool. While that doesn't affect us, our friends who have 2 kids of different ages, it's convienent and easy to watch both kids. And it allows the adults to all hang out in a relatively close proximity too.
