I'm still sick, but I plan to go to my gravel grinder this weekend. I'm signed up for the 50 km. Luckily, I can downgrade to the 25 km if I don't feel up to the 50 or the weather isn't great. The weather is looking pretty bad Sunday, so I may do brunch with friends and ride the trainer later.
My faaaaavorite race is this weekend. It's a 10K that I just love- it's challenging enough without being awful, the weather always cooperates, everyone shows up, and there's beer. I don't care about PRing, but I at least want to come close to my time from last year.
NOTHING!!!!!!! :-D no teaching no running! I'm taking it off!! Wahooooo. Finished today's run, need to teach and that's it til Monday!! Im so excited I could cry. I know by Sunday I'll be feeling guilty but don't let me guilt myself into a workout. Keep me home! Lol A couple evening walks with h and that's it! Yay!
My gym is hosting this event that benefits a particular health organization. Since, I, uhh...have issues with that particularly organization, I won't be participating.
My weekend plans: Tonight visiting friends seeing their new house Tomorrow cleaning, errands, lesson plans, sleeping in Sunday more of the same :/) Nice nothing weekend

My first half is this Sunday! Forecast is currently 100% chance of rain and WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY TMI...........I have a hemorrhoid that is KILLING ME. I only ran 2 miles yesterday and thought I would die of pain. 13 miles should be quite interesting.
ETA: I lied. Forecast is now 80% chance of rain. Yay I guess?
I'm racing for the first time all year!! Forecast looks good, probably the nicest ever for this race and this will be my 6th year running it. I'm doing my local half marathon, and I'm planning on 7-8 miles before it so I get in 20+ for the day. (I'm also 3 weeks out from my marathon.)
Not sure if I'll try to race hard or just go for marathon pace. I'll see how I feel after my warm up miles.
It's Boston weekend !!!!! Cheering for our BQ ladies!

sweetptater, good luck!! I ran my first half in the pouring rain and it wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be. Once you're wet, you're wet, so just embrace it and don't even try to avoid the puddles. And plenty of Aquaphor.
(I did have a guy yell at me for stepping in a puddle and splashing him. I thought he was joking, but nope.)
My plan for the weekend is yoga and walking Saturday, long run on Sunday- last long run before a half. I'm debating on distance. Last half I did 12 the week before (HH Novice2) and had a great race, but with my hamstring this cycle I'm not sure. Probably will shoot for 10 and see how I feel.
eta: Holy crap- it's Boston weekend!! So excited for you Boston ladies- you rock!

I am running 12 miles in the morning with my running buddy, and then we are hosting my mom for her birthday around lunchtime, THEN we have a babysitter and are meeting friends to drink beer in the sunshine. Let's hope the sun cooperates and decides to make an appearance.

We're taking DS to the red sox game tonight. One of the partner's at MH's firm gave us his tickets and they are amazing seats (MH and I have sat in them before). Tomorrow morning I need to be back in Boston by 7 for the BAA 5K. I am running it with the MR8 Foundation which I am very excited about. After I get home its relaxing and hanging out in the yard since it's supposed to be nice. Sunday will probably be more of the same.

Thank you! I'm really nervous! On the plus side, running in the rain will give me something else to focus on besides how much further I have to go.
I am picking up my race packet tomorrow for a local 5k on Sunday. I am running it with a few ladies from my CF gym and we decided to stick together to motivate the ladies that hate running. I sort of wish I could run it for a PR but I'll have plenty of other races to do that with.

I might be running a half on Sunday. Right now the forecast is for occasional thunderstorms, but the race has not implied they will postpone, and I'm not really willing to risk electrocution for a cheap medal. If its not raining, the humidity will be upwards of 90%, which will suck big time too. My training has been pretty much a joke this time around because of all of the rain, so this might be my first 4 hour half.
Good luck to all our racers, especially our Boston girls!

No real racing this weekend and probably no outdoor riding. Just lots of trainer time.
If the weather does clear up, Sunday we're doing an informal race at the track, Round Robin sprints. You do a flying 200 and get put into a group of four that have similar times. You each pay $10. Then you race in a sprint against those four. The winner gets $30, the second place $10. I won't place but it will be good practice since our match sprints last weekend got cancelled because of rain.

Just swimming tomorrow - no race. I was going to do a lake swim instead of a pool swim, but I missed yesterday's swim altogether due to picking R up at the airport, so I'll probably attend the Saturday masters swim instead to get in more mileage. (It's still too cold in the lake for the 2+ miles I need to make my goal this week.)
ETA: Totally forgot to wish all you actual racers good luck!
Good luck, all, especially to those of you running Boston!
This is a step back week for me, but I'm doing an untimed REI fun run (trail) with some friends on Sunday. I'll probably just do the 5k, since it's supposed to be a rest day.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I have an 11 mile training run up for tomorrow. I'm hoping the weather cooperates and I can go run at the park where I did most of my training last summer. It's a nice 2.75 or so mile trail around a really nice park, with decent shade through a lot of it.
Good luck everyone! Marathon Monday is going to be so fun!!
F: Bid good luck and bon voyage to my boston bound friend S: Shuttle kids around and get my oil changed S: Very important 8 mile run. I need good juju for this one.
