Good luck everyone! Marathon Monday is going to be so fun!!
F: Bid good luck and bon voyage to my boston bound friend S: Shuttle kids around and get my oil changed S: Very important 8 mile run. I need good juju for this one.
I fly out to Boston this afternoon! DH has family nearby so apparently I assign going to have a 12 person cheering squad! I will probably wait until Sunday to hit the expo since our flight doesn't get in until 4:30 today.
I'm happy and slightly bummed about the race I ran.
Happy - I PR'd, and won a massage gc and local restaurant gc Bummed - two separate people I asked said their watch read less than 3.1 miles (2.93) so I still PR'd my pace but it wasn't an official 5k
It's beautiful out!
Congrats!!! I've had a few courses run short and I know how you feel. I do my best to celebrate the pace PR, but it is frustrating. Especially given how painful 5k's are. I think I could overlook it for a massage and restaurant gift card. Nice prizes!
I got my first ever DNF today. My friend got dehydrated and passed out on the course. I ended up riding with her to the ER.
Oh no! I hope she is okay.
She's fine, thanks for asking. She ended being pretty dehydrated and needed a couple bags of fluid. We also had plenty of time to talk about her low carb diet. Especially as we head into marathon training.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Glad she's okay, but dang, that is scary.

My race went really well. I got 2nd in my age group and knocked 25 seconds off my time from two weeks ago. Speed work really works... Oh and hello spring!
Lori and I have some slight soreness, but we plan to kick some asphalt as best as we can! bostonmichelle is going to kick some serious butt too. She will most likely be waiting a half hour for me Good Luck racers!

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I ran a 10k yesterday. It was my first "serious" race since I had DD last June. I ran it to build stamina and to pace myself, not time. I am very pleased with my time (1:12) because the last time I raced this race, and was in much better shape, I did it in 1:06. Now feeling much more confident that I can do the half in June!
I'm stuck at a fast food joint with stomach issues. Chipotle and pre-race jitters don't mix well. I don't know why I'm jittery. It's a 5k that I'm running with a group, so not even for time yet my nerves are going off. Oh and the grocery store wasn't open so I could get a banana.
I'm off to the expo. It is gorgeous out today, 100% chance of rain for tomorrow. Please oh please weather gods be wrong... And of course I didn't remember to bring a hat.
I ran my first 5k since last fall and got a one minute PR! I finally broke the 23 minute mark and ran a 22:48. I'm happy, but after running a bunch of trail races and longer-distance races all winter, I'm remembering how painful 5ks can be. Oh, and I puked immediately after crossing the finish line

Oh my goodness!! I liked this post, like heck yeah, that's a great time and PR, but ack! So sorry about the puke!
