I got an email today from the hr lady saying they wanted to bring me in for an interview. Nice. But then she says the hiring manager is having all candidates complete this project she attached. Guys, it was so dumb. Super time consuming busy work. I looked at it, closed it, came back to it, closed it. I could do the project, that's not the issue. But, it kind of gave me some insight into what this manager is like...and what this company is like.
James and I discussed it yesterday and decided that a full time job wouldn't be best for our family right now - not when I have this cushy, well paying part-time gig. Full time salary would have been nice, but the strain it would put on our family isn't worth it. Thankfully, we are okay without me working full time.
Anyway, I was planning on going through the interview process for the experience and just to see if they would give me an offer I couldn't refuse, which was doubtful, but you never know.
This test project thing has made it easy for me to bow out. So, no new job for me.
Now I just have to hope that the HR guy doesn't try to cut my pay to bring me on as an employee. My boss told me if he does try to cut the rate, that I should say no and that he would back me up. Time will tell about that. But no matter the rate, if I am an employee, I won't have to worry about not getting my checks (still haven't received my check) as it will process with payroll and be direct deposited on pay day.
Well I hope they get everything straightened out at your current job because not receiving payment in a timely manner is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I don't *CARE* if you function as a contractor or not!!
Ugh, good to find out now about that other company. I'm probably totally bitter because I went through total hoops for one company a week and half before Christmas where I had to go back to do a sample layout to prove I could use InDesign and then at the end, they decided not to hire for the position at all
