Question - when you are at the stage where your kid CAN walk somewhere like the park (say 10-20 minutes walk) but might get tired and give up halfway home, do you bring the stroller? I like having somewhere to dump a bag or whatever, so I am debating getting a wagon or something.
Yes, we bring the stroller because typically if DS1 is tired of walking, he's also usually cranky, and carrying a cranky, 30-pound baby for 10-20 minutes is miserable.
I know people love wagons, but we live in a very hilly neighborhood and the idea of pulling that uphill didn't appeal to me.
If naptime starts late and runs long, do you wake your kid up? If you let them sleep, do you pay for it that night with a late bedtime?

Yes! We always make sure our kids are up from their nap by 4:30pm once they are on one nap/day. I'd rather deal with cranky baby/toddler from 4:30pm until an early bedtime than an overly awake baby at 9pm when all I want to do is relax with DH.
I send DS to daycare in the cotton Zutano booties. Or bare feet.
Any recs for baby sunglasses? Should I even try?
We have babiators and love them. When DS was itty bitty he left them alone, but around 8 months there was no keeping them on his face. Happily, he is back to keeping them on at 14 months.
They have a great replacement policy for lost or broken glasses, too.
DD1 is 6. We brush and floss her teeth diligently. I've switched her toothpaste 3 times, tried fluoride and even non-fluoride to see if it would help. She has weird metallic-smelling breath and she keeps getting dark plaque on her front bottom teeth. The only thing that takes it off is baking soda, and I have to do it every single day. If anyone has any advice, please clue me in. I feel awful for her. I feel like a bad mom when her teeth look like that, but she doesn't drink juice or even milk, just water. She doesn't eat candy really, and we hardly eat any processed foods. I don't get it. I made her an appointment with the dentist, but it takes forever to get an appointment, so she won't see anyone until next month. Ugh. DD2 doesn't have this going on at all, FWIW.
At what age did you start a bedtime routine for your baby (e.g., bath, bottle, book, bed)? It occurred to me that the way we are doing it now, he really has no idea that it is night time so we should start establishing some kind of routines/cues. I don't intend for him to sleep through the night or anything, but I just want him to associate night with certain things and day with certain things.
I think we will start that tomorrow.
Did/do you try to keep the baby awake for awhile before the first night stretch?
Do you swaddle him? At this age, we swaddle and turn on his sound machine.

rbp I sometimes put shoes on my non walking baby, just to get him used to them. My 2 year old is resistant to change, so it's much easier to get a kid accustomed to something before they know any different.

It's funny that some of you got comments for not putting shoes or socks on. I got comments because I did send him with shoes or socks so I just started sending him barefoot like the rest of the babies.

We just booked a beach house for Memorial Day weekend. We are taking M and going with our friends and their 2yo. They probably have some beach gear that they can share, like an umbrella etc. beyond that, what do we need for M? He will be 9mo. I have a rashguard, swim trunks, sun hats, and sunscreen. What do we do about a diaper? I've heard of swim diapers, but what are they/where would I get some? What else would make our time on the beach more pleasant? The condo also has a pool.
