I wasn't trying to throw the "child free card" as a way of disparaging anyone with children. It seemed that most of the women who were saying "hotel sex" have kids and I was thinking that staying in a hotel would be an easy way to be loud and wild without worrying about kids hearing or interrupting. I certainly don't feel sorry for anyone's husbands, I was trying to offer an explanation for why I don't think it is weird.
I have mommy attachment issues because I don't hate my in-laws and don't mind sharing a room occasionally?
Maybe it's because I don't have kids so I don't need to go to a hotel for wild sex with my husband, or I am able to vacation alone often enough with my husband so giving up a night of hotel sex isn't a big deal. I don't see how it is creepy to share a bed with my husband while his parents are a few feet away. It's not a matter of cost, it just isn't a big deal.
We don't have kids.
There's still no amount of money that would make it worth for me to find out if my dad snores, or my mom talks in her sleep, or what either of them look like waking up. Also, I probably have to wear a bra to bed, because god forbid I have a headlights situation with my parents.
NO.
NO.
FOREVER NO.
Lol.
I guess everyone is different but I've shared hotel rooms with my parents recently on international trips. I also lived with my dad for a few months last year. I know that my dad snores, I don't think its a big deal.
In fact, a month from now I'll again be sharing a hotel room with my dad in Japan. The options were share a room or not go on the trip, so that was an easy choice for me. I promise I don't have any daddy issues AT ALL...just love to travel!

The only thing I can think of is mommy daddy attachment issues if you find this okay. Maybe I'm projecting my feelings based on my SIL who has serious mommy issues.
Neither DH nor I have attachment issues with our parents, and we would be okay with this in certain circumstances. A relaxing vacation with no private space? No. But I can foresee non-apocalyptic scenarios where we would be willing to share.Â
Again, I am soley basing my feelings on my SIL.
She still has her mom come stay with her when she's sick.

I would be freaked out if the only thing between me and my IL's (or my parents for that matter) in a confined space was a couple pieces of flannel. ::shudder::

I would really, really prefer DH and I not share with ILs or my mom, but would do it in a pinch. Not in the OP's situation. Maybe a funeral where all the rooms are booked.
But we are going to Universal soon and sharing a room with SIL. I don't feel weird about it.

I'm still stuck on sharing a room to save money in Vegas.
Unless you're here for fight weekend, you can get a room for 60 bucks a night. $30 if you're okay with possible bedbugs and a shanking in the parking garage.

Getting shanked by bed bugs > hearing my ILs snore
Considering people's reactions included "I wouldn't even share during the zombie apocalypse," I doubt the poll answers would be much different for other locations, Lol.
