I've spent countless hours on Boston stuff this week: researching hotels, tracking runners, reading recaps.
I bought 2 pairs of running shoes for $100 today.
I spent an hour or two last week trying to find some running shorts.
Our vaccuum has been broken for a few weeks and haven't spent a minute looking online trying to find something. I've let H take charge of researching the new car that we want to buy.
Anybody else spend far too much time on H&F stuff and not as much on real life stuff?
During my Ironman block it was asinine. Thank goodness it was really more of a life experience for H & me, because it was seriously spendy (time & $) from top to bottom.
I'm getting one of those suckers soon. I've even clipped my Bed, Bath & Beyond coupon for the 20% off - ready for a deal! We have friends nearby with two dogs & their floors are spotless. We're in & out of the house, down at the water, two dogs, etc. I'm getting one & scheduling it to sweep EVERY DAY.

Umm, you mean like how yesterday I told H I didn't have time to figure out the TV in our bedroom (which was going to be checking the cable to make sure it was attached right and then calling the cable company if the box still wasn't working - so ya know, a 15 minute activity at most) because I spent 4 hours at the gym and then while out running errands saw some protein powders that caused me to spend hours online researching protein?
It is easy for me to go down that rabbit hole when I'm searching for a race, a deal on shoes, have a marathon coming up, might be injured, etc. Yeah. It's a problem, and my H makes fun of me for furiously tapping on my phone for no productive reason.
ETA: I am dedicated to my family & job too, but sometimes I know I get too invested in my upcoming race(s). I wish this weren't the case, but I guess I've got to have an outlet. Or I'm just crazy and can't help myself

I have spent hours looking for the right color orange running shorts to wear to The Alum Run in June. On the flip side, I have only spent 45 minutes this week actually running.

OMG, YES! We bought one of these when we built our house and it was the best investment. EVER.
We have two dogs, one which sheds a lot. We have it go off three times each week and it's insane how much it picks up! It even goes on tile/hardwood so it has helped cut back on sweeping too.
All the time. I had a hard time working on Monday because I just wanted to keep checking the Boston live feed.
I told myself that triathlon would be a cheap hobby after I bought my bike, wetsuit and kit. On Tuesday I spent $50 on CO2, gels and Nuun. And since my LBS stopped carrying salted caramel gu, I bought a box on amazon when I got home.

Absolutely. I have reworked my training schedules and researched them thousands of times I swear. And I've spent countless hours looking for shoe deals. Thankfully I'm set thru the end of the year on shoes based on my training plans.
Yep. I am down to a very limited work wardrobe because of a size change, but have no trouble rewearing the same clothes over and over in daily life, while I go drop $$ on new trail shoes and running clothes!
Taking an off-campus lunch today to get a new sports bra (since ordering online isn't going well at all), and to look for a belt that will carry food/phone comfortably for the HM next week. Need to stock up on Nuun and salt tablets this weekend too. I keep looking over the race course map, and I am super nervous that the gorgeous weather prediction will change (48 low/60 high and partly sunny!!!)
