I do this regularly. It doesn't help that my H is a year younger, and I often forget that we're not the same age. Once I hit 30, it was like, welp, eff it. It doesn't matter. Every birthday is just "practically 40".
YEs. Two weeks ago at a wedding I told people at the table I was 34. It wasn't until days later I realized I'm 33. Even now typing this I feel confused, am I 32? Lol. I can't be 32 because my sister just turned 32 and I can't be 34 because H just turned 33 and we are the same age after his birthday until mine each year.
I have to do this sort of deductive reasoning frequently.
The other night we were talking about something and I made the comment that I was 30. DH had to correct me and tell me I'm 31.
My good friend is retiring and recently met with the HR person and her husband. The HR person said, "Okay so you're 57?" Her "No, I'm 59" Husband "Honey you're 57." HR "According to your birth year you're 57." Her "I am?!?!"
Dh and I are always checking in with eachother to see how old we are. I tend to say I'm an age between 30 and 33. I'm 32 but can't seem to lock it in my head.
I think I only remember msniq's age because she's one year younger than me most of the year. So far I've been good about remembering that I'm 35 and no longer 34.
I do this all the time. Even while reading this thread I had to think about how old I really am, 33...?... Last summer someone asked me how old I was and it took me a minute and I kind of said it unsure and she totally side eyed me and was like "you don't know how old you are, lol". She was a young though.

Observation #1: You people are so young!!!
Observation #2: I do this all the time, and I have since I turned 30. For a while, I would forget whether I was say, 32 or 33. Now someone asks me, and I get a blank look. I seriously don't have a clue. I know I was 30 when DD1 was born, so I usually do the math from that. Because subtracting 1978 from 2015 is beyond my mental math ability.
Yeah, I have the exact same debate pretty much every time I have to answer that question. Even doing the math gets tricky for me, because my birthday is at the end of December so basic subtraction only works for a few days a year. I always have to remember that Current Year - Year of Birth = Age I will turn at the end of the year.
