So I've been dairy-free for I think like 3 months. In 2 weeks, DS will be 8 months and I was thinking of trying to reintroduce dairy into my diet as a test.
Are there any recommendations for how to go about this? Is 8 months too soon? I want pizza like everyday.
A friend of mine found her dd could tolerate goat cheese and she had some goat cheese pizza that was actually fantastic. You could try goat cheese on DS and then you can add it to a lot of things that are missing cheese. Mmmmmm

Ditto @republicrat about testing on him directly first. We challenged at 12 months (on purpose, yogurt, and she reacted), 15 months (daycare slipped up with dairy and she reacted; we intentionally trialed soy around this time and she didn't react to that), and 17ish months (daycare slipped up with dairy and she didn't react, though we've recently - at almost 3 - cut straight milk again as she has toddler diarrhea that has been drastically reduced since we cut it).
We did discover that DD could tolerate goat milk/cheese around 14 months. I don't know if she could have handled it sooner, but that was pretty awesome.

DS was also able to tolerate goat milk/cheese/yogurt around 18 months.

My sister has been unable to tolerate dairy well since she had really strong antibiotics when she had appendicitis a few years ago, and she found she can do goat cheese too.
I love it on pizza. I mix a T or 2 of olive oil + a couple cloves of garlic + red pepper flakes. Let it sit, brush it all over the crust in place of red sauce, top with goat cheese. Super yummy.
DD's allergist also said to try giving it to her directly first. Whole Foods sells frozen pizza with the dairy/soy free cheese. It wasn't great, but it was his enough to get me through. You're doing a great job though, I remember how hard it was keeping to such a restrictive diet. I kept a list of what I would eat as soon as I weaned to help me through.

Lime pps said, test him first. What you don't want to hear is that 8 months is probably too soon if it's true intolerance and not just sensitivity. But I understand wanting to try!
