Nik, you really need to read the book "The Lost Dogs"
IRC Vick actually didn't specifically serve time in jail for dog fighting, it was related to the gambling and illegal activities going on his property. I think it was George Bush who made dog fighting a felony because of the Vick case. Unfortunately it wasn't considered a felony when Vick was sentenced.
Any mention of Michael Vick shoots my blood pressure up. OMG.
Right, so, not a fan of what either of these guys did. But Vick's punishment seemed way out of line with the level of wrongdoing, especially when compared to Roethlisberger (or Ray Rice until there was video, or Ray f***ing Lewis, etc. etc.)
I don't know if this is an UO but it's my vent. I hate when people say they have a Christmas baby and their baby was born in 12/26. No you don't...you have an around Christmas baby. Mine was born on 12/25 so I have a Christmas baby...12/24 can say Christmas baby too.
I was with you until I got to the bolded. There is no difference between 12/24 and 12/26 in their proximity to Christmas so if a 12/26 can't be a Christmas Baby, then neither can 12/24.
But I'd totally call my baby a Boxing Day Baby if I had a baby on 12/26 anyway.
I considered 12/24 to be Christmas Eve....so in my head I was okay with it. And I totally get it stinks having babies around Christmas....I don't dismiss those opinions at all!

LOL! My boys were born on Christmas too and I get the annoyance. Dec 23/26 does not equal Christmas. Haha.
ETA- I get all Christmastime birthdays suck, but ON Christmas!! It blows. Hahaha. I'm probably just grasping at straws and trying to find something special about it!
It occurred to me after reading this thread that shift dresses would probably work really well for me and now I've started searching the bst thread. lol.
If you hover over a post title you can see the first couple of lines.
When there are new posts in a thread that you haven't read, the word 'new' will be next to the title, and you can click on it to go straight to the new posts.
It doesn't take 20 minutes to load a thread...
No censoring! Post whatever you want!
Multi level marketing. Like pampered chef, fantasia, epicure. All those "buy things" parties.

Was this for me? If so, thanks. (If it wasn't, thanks anyway ;-) ) I appear to be lucky in not seeing any of this on my FB feed.

I am so confused about what you quoted here. How did that happen? Magic?

This actually happens to me a lot on the app. I click on a post to quote and then another one ends up inserted instead. I'll retry, making sure the right one is selected, and it still grabs the wrong one. I have to reset the app to fix it. Usually I catch it before I post. Missed it this time I guess. Apparently this one just came out or the ethers.
Oh, this reminds me of a genuine UO that I meant to put in my "for the next UO thread" spreadsheet.
I can't get worked up over what Michael Vick did to the point of wanting him thrown in jail/banned for life from the NFL/etc.
See, and when I hear people are all Eagles obsessed, I immediately add an asterisk in my mental spreadsheet. I do the same for Steelers fans, because of Rapistberger. Or the rest of them who are also criminals.
Ehh. You can be a Steelers fan without being a Roethlisberger fan. I'm not going to give up my lifelong team because of one asshole.
I guess anyone who likes the Ravens or the Vikings is also on your spreadsheet?

I mean I think you would basically need to give up all pro sports. Or at least the NFL. Which I realize some people have done.
You are breaking Garth Brooks' heart!!!1111!!111!!111!!
Country music does not suck. Bro country aka Florida Georgia Line/Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan/every other male artist who writes songs only about driving around in their truck drinking beer and checking out women that is stupidly popular nowadays all sucks.
I realize that we've moved on from Garth, but I have to share this story.
A former coworker of mine is able to get very good tickets to any event at her local stadium, because of her husband's job. She recently posted on FB something along the lines of "Saw Garth Brooks in concert last night. So much fun! I didn't recognize any of his songs, but he's a great performer!"
A am a huge Garth fan, so maybe that's just crazy to me, but I don't know how someone can go 55+ years in life and not have ever heard a Garth Brooks song.

I have heard a few songs, but I certainly could not name a current Garth Brooks song. There is a good chance he would not play one of the few songs I know at a concert.
OK, all joking aside about the Nicolas Cage-movie quality of BNL, a discussion of Canadian music can't be complete without me bitching that the Tragically Hip aren't well known outside of Canada. Best Canadian band of all time!
Is that my mid-90's small-town Canada showing?
I was trying to remember why I know Tragically Hip, and I realized it's from one of their songs being on an episode of the classic 90s show Due South. So, yeah, Canada.

I am not a country music fan and haven't been to a Garth Brooks concert since the mid-90s. But I am kind of assuming he has to play Friends in Low Places at every concert, right? And surely you've heard that?
Yes i have, but I have no clue if he does it every show. Sometimes I think artists boycott their popular stuff because they are tired off doing it.

I've seen them live. Also Moxy Fruvous before we knew Jian was a scumbag. I had a Canadian thing going on for awhile
