matildasun - Yeah it's nuts that they are telling people to stay in Camden Yards. We were planning on going to the Federal Hill block party tomorrow, and now DH is like well if it's crazy downtown, we aren't going.
I totally agree with your comment about the important message of the protests being overshadowed by violence. I am watching the news now and it's really sad. I think there is absolutely a reason to be protesting, but the violence and looting is totally unnecessary.
We had a nice dinner at our favorite breakfast joint with the kids. DS(5) and H were playing Tic Tac Toe and DS get telling daddy where to go so he could win.

mcfelix, It should be okay tomorrow, but it is the small festival, so not as kid friendly as the bigger one.
I may go to sell raffle tickets for A's school. You should come down on May 8 for spring fling at A's school. They will have a toddler area and a cool silent auction.

It seems like a lot of the violent instigators are from out of town/not Baltimore, which really stinks.

I'm home from my friends' sons birthday party. She just moved to a new neighborhood in March and has the coolest neighbors. They are all BFFs already and have inside jokes and hang out and act all comfortable inside each others houses. Im so jealous.

The helicopters have finally stopped, but I can still hear sirens. I know helicopters are a trivial thing to be focused on, but it is how I can tell things are happening.
chickens987 that's not cool. I would be pretty upset about that many people at my house when neither homeowner is there.
Ah, therein lies the issue!
This is our house - but they own it. It was unmortgageable when we bought it, so they shelled out the cash and our plan is to buy it from them when the major renos are done. We have a lease and we pay them rent every month, and they would argue that it's our house through and through, but times like this it doesn't feel authentic.
Was it free babysitting? It honestly wouldn't bother me too much.
We're going back to Fl in November for a redo of the big family vacation since my sister and her family didn't come in Feb. Ok. But I was talking to my mom tonight and she's worrying about high chairs. Maaahhhhm. Stahhhp. It's still April!
your mom and i would get along well
we have a big family wedding in TO in september and i am already stressed about a pack-n-play, carseat, how i will leave the wedding and get back to our airbnb if i need to put R to bed. when i mention all of this to h his response is always "stop stressing, it will all work out!" I KNOW. I'M GOING TO OBSESSED OVER IT FOR THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS AND I WILL FIND A SOLUTION.

All I'm hearing is gtg in September, lol.
yes, please!
i'd love an excuse to sneak away from the ILs for a few hours
MIL was over during the day. She does not have the touch with DS sadly and he was a fussy, non-sleeping mess all day. I was trying to get some cleaning done and let her and DH deal with him though.
Then BIL invited us all over for an impromptu dinner. He grilled. It was good. I wore DS and thankfully he slept. Thank god that kid likes the Ergo.
We were talking about going to a family wedding and they are all being super weird about it. Oh well. I'm looking forward to a change of pace and staying in a nice hotel. Hopefully that isn't miserable with a 5-month-old baby.
