It is formal I think. According to her this is the height of middle school. She was originally just going to go with her girlfriends before and wear a dress she already has. Now it is buying all the things and getting her hair done.
lol, wait until it is PROM! So much more anxiety with staying out all night, going to parties, and GASP! Going with a boy! All new territory in the 8th grade. They didnt have dates, just went with friends, but she did have a strapless dress. Just breathe! You will get through it! I promise!

DD's was semi formal and couldn't be strapless or shorter than school dress code. Heels or nice sandals and she did her own hair and makeup but it's definitely a lot more fancy than normal school dances. She and a group of her friends all met up for pictures and then dinner and off to the dance.

Even the moms of boys arent off the hook! My son just asked a girl to his jr prom. We sized him for his tux over the weekend. He has no idea what color shes wearing, so I'm panicked about the driving, and the drinking, and the sex and WTH COLOR CORSAGE SHOULD I ORDER?

Lol! She is finally asleep. Our last conversation was how he NEEDED to know what color her dress was. We didn't even buy it yet but now it will have to be blue because that was what she told him. They are all insecure messes. And adorable at the same time. I don't miss it. But it is fun second hand.

This made me smile so much. First crushes are the best (when they like you back haha!) I hope she has a great time and feels really beautiful/special at her dance.
