I have a 20% off BB&B coupon and $100 BB&B gift card I would like to use to buy a robot vacuum. If you have pets and a combination of hardwood, carpet/rugs and tile which works best?
These are the 3 that seem to be the best reviewed and their price (after coupon & gift card).
Roomba 650 $219 Neato XV Signature Pro $235 Neato Botvac 85 $259
when we last had a roomba, it lasted for like a month before dying. and it would only clean for about an hour or so before becoming gunked up with dog hair. we have a golden retriever. granted, this was several years ago and I'm sure they're a bit better, but DH and I are turned off of the idea of robot vacuums being able to handle our dog hair.
The Neato signature is what we have I think (it's from the Woot deal earlier this year). It picks up so much dog hair! More than my shark vacuum was. Our dog is a bit crazy, and he only barked at it the first time it ran. Now he just stays out of the way.
ETA: Our downstairs is a mix of tile, hardwood and area rugs and it transitions over it all perfectly.

I have the roomba 650, no complaints... picks up the dog/cat hair well, I have hardwood, tile and area rugs (no tacked down carpet). Bonus, it entertains my kid and my dog
We have a roomba and it works well, but it does get full very quickly. I also find it annoying that it lets itself die instead of returning to the charging station when the battery is low. Aside from that, it really does do a nice job of getting up all the dog hair.
We have all hardwood/tile and area rugs in each room.

We have a Neato, don't remember the exact model. But we have mostly carpet and some tile. And a big 80lb shedding dog and two kids. It picks up a lot! Never had any issues with it.
My house is all hardwood and rugs, no carpet. We have been super happy with our Roomba (whatever model Costco sells) for about a year now, zero issues with it. We have a large dog.
I considered the Neato but at the end of the day it was more important to me to buy from Costco because of their return policy (this was months before the MMM robot vacuum craze... I am a robot vacuum hipster (hot) ) since I was not sure I would like it/did not know anyone else who owned one at the time. The Neato model Costco carried had a higher price and poorer reviews so we went with the Roomba.
Even then, you would hope that the reviews would have been better for pet hair.
Pet hair is the whole reason I want one of these things!
Me too.
I want to be able to run it a few times a week to mitigate the huge vacuuming chore in my house. The Neato has better customer reviews, but the super expensive roomba? Not good for pet hair and rug to hardwood transitions, I guess.
I would get the neato. I saw good things about the BV 85. Nothing yet on the Signature Pro.
I have the roomba (whatever the one at Costco is) and am pretty happy with it. We have wood floors and a dog. The bin is really small and you have to clean the brushes regularly for it to be effective, but it beats vacuuming by hand, that's for sure!
