do they do free dining only in the fall? we're not going til right around DS' 5th birthday (12/22/16), but we're hoping to go in early 2017 since 2016 is booking up fast with family obligations.
We could do it in December for my birthday. I mean DD's birthday. A 2 yr old won't notice if we celebrate on the 15th instead of the 8th, right?
We booked a family suite at Art of Animation - there is no way we are doing a sit down meal every day with two young kids. They're 100x more stressful than casual food-court style eating for us, so this was perfect.
The AoA food court is actually one of my favorite food courts. I loved the Naan sandwich they had when we were there last year.
I would love to do a weekend with just DH and I, but then no free dining. I think my mom would be ok watching E for a few days.
Although my mom has drank the Disney kool-aid and spent 20 minutes on the phone with me yesterday talking about DVC and that they don't want to spend for the polynesian, but maybe the grand floridian would be a good compromise. Uh, whut? Who are you and where is my mother?

Fyi from my casual perusal of GF availability it looks like even with owning you need reservations close to 11 months out. They go FAST! (I have no desire to stay there as I'm too cheap and would stay at BLT instead)
BLT is sold out unless you do re-sale according to her (I have no idea). I don't think they want to do re-sale.

Not for us. We found that club level upgrades save is money because we have breakfast and snack and dinner there. No need to buy groceries, and not stuck to the dining plan, and you can get an abundance of snacks.

I agree with Starry as to the GF availability if you want a studio. It seems to be a little easier to get a room if you want to reserve a 1 BR (but the points for that is crazy). If she really wants Poly, the point price is comparable to GF, but there are a few GF available resale that are more reasonably priced, if she's interested in GF.
The Disney couples trip is fun if you're a Disney lover. I'm excited about doing the race, eating as Sanaa uninterrupted, laying by the pool without watching the kids like crazy, and actually staying at the parks late enough to watch the fireworks

Resale is so much cheaper though! She could get so many more points which means so many more trips

Which hotel did you stay at for the club level?
Polynesian. Our family has been staying there since the mid 80s, so I'm partial to it! We also really like having the monorail and boat access to MK and being able to walk to TTC. But being able to pack snacks from there to take to the park or back to your room is lovely.
OK, so we are booked at a moderate resort (Old Key West) for November 8-13, which falls in the dates for free dining. So can we just call and add the free dining to our reservation?

It has to be available for those dates. Not all rooms types are available even if you are going during those dates. You can call and they can check and you might be able to check online and modify.
