You guys think play doh is messy? We don't really regulate it at our house. Once a container has been opened, I don't expect it to last the day. We often toss it. Once it dries it the crumbs can easily be vacuumed up.
We have a leather couch and hardwood floor, so maybe I would have a different view if we had wall to wall carpeting and fabric couches? But even when it gets imbedded in his clothes, it comes out in the wash on a regular cycle.
It's really hard to get out of carpet and certain area rugs for us! I pull her table and chairs into our tiled foyer, lol.

Yeah, I don't find it messy either. DS plays with it at the kitchen table. I just wipe/sweep after?

We love playdoh. I agree that if you just want to use it up without the mess, set it up outside. You can play on the back deck or driveway and let the kids go hog wild. We usually hand over a plastic spoon and knife and a rolling pin plus cookie cutters. It literally will entertain my kids for an easy hour. Worth every penny

Us too. I like play-doh! If you leave it a few hours it dries and its super easy to sweep up.
But I can't imagine my kids every playing with it on carpet?? Like paint and markers, it's a kitchen activity.

Yeah, there would be no playing on carpet here.
We don't have a eat in kitchen, our dining room is carpeted (hate this!), plus i have a new RH dining room set - nope nope nope. That's why i hate it - there's no good place to do it here. Maybe outside this summer. That's the only time we paint, lol.
yeah I hate the dried bits, the playdoh getting mixed with other colors so you have to go buy more, but mostly the smell. I hate the smell of plah doh almost as much as I hate the smell of the juice in dandelion stems.

I commented earlier about the vast quantity of playdoh, but I think it would be cool to have. I think playdoh is much less messy than kinetic sand, which I have banished to the attic. The sand gets everywhere and my floors are a weird combo of gritty and slippery. Playdoh just dries up and get vacuumed, plus I like to squish it when it's new. Add me to the "likes the smell" column.
