DD1 and DD3 had their joint family bday party this weekend and SIL gave them the joint gift of 24lbs of play doh, lol. WTH are we going to do with four big tubs of playdoh, they don't play with what we do have, ha! I hope she got a great deal, though!
What a horiffically useless gift unless you know the kid you are getting it for FREAKING loves Play Doh. Maybe donate it to your kids school or your church Sunday School?
What makes someone look at that much play-doh and think "well that's a great gift?!"
I'm wondering this myself. It must've been a really good deal because just googling, that much play doh is really expensive. It probably was while they were at Costco or something, I really hope because otherwise as much as we do love play doh, 24lbs is just too much even for three little girls. DD3 transfers daycares in June, so I'll be seeing if they need any donations.
I wonder this myself sometimes, lol. They threatened to give DD1 a lite brite when we gave our nephew legos one year after complaining about all the little pieces.
SIL gave DD2 one of those huge cardboard play houses that come with markers that you color. It's in the playroom right now (which is supposed to be the living room) and I hate it, but it's not coming down anytime soon because the girls love it so much.

My kid is that kid. We go through TONS of it & homemade isn't as good.

It wouldn't make sense for them to actually be a $100. It's the same amount as 48 regular containers of play doh which cost what, $10-$20 depending on the sets?
This is an awesome gift. I would take one bin outside and let them stomp in it, add sand to it, etc. How could would it be to walk through a huge mass of play doh?
I would use one bin at a time, and expect to toss it after the fact.
You guys think play doh is messy? We don't really regulate it at our house. Once a container has been opened, I don't expect it to last the day. We often toss it. Once it dries it the crumbs can easily be vacuumed up.
We have a leather couch and hardwood floor, so maybe I would have a different view if we had wall to wall carpeting and fabric couches? But even when it gets imbedded in his clothes, it comes out in the wash on a regular cycle.

That is a ton but I don't think it is the worst gift. My dd loves it but yeah it can be kind of messy. Kids are messy. Ours stays in the kitchen and has not made it to carpet or furniture though so there is that. I was buying a small container once at Target and the the cashier made a comment that I'm brave. Lol people have weird strong feelings about it.
