Possibly the funniest night of the year, even more so than Roseanne Barr's Comedy Central Roast. (Did y'all see that shiz? Wayne Brady was awesome, and then Gilbert Gottfried slew me.)
I don't think Ryan will be the Biden to Bidens Palin (follow that lol?) - I think Biden is a pretty good debater. But Ryan is feisty. So im liberal/a Democrat and I think this will be a good debate. I think Ryan will get some hits in for sure but I dont discount Biden either.
glenn beck is saying that watching biden try to keep up with ryan in a debate will be like "conservative porn." unfortunately, i think he might be right. wdyt?
Watching the Cheney/Edwards debate in 2004 was liberal porn, so yeah, he's probably right.
I think Biden is more charismatic than Cheney but Ryan doesn't have that annoying son of a mill worker schtick, so the debates are even in their mismatchedness. Which is totally a word.

Wait this was already on? Shit, I need to find it and record.

I think that they are both going to get their jabs in. I think Ryan will score on fiscal issues, Biden on national security/foreign affairs. I think both parties will claim victory

We watched it last night - not sure if it was THE broadcast or a rebroadcast.
Ryan is definitely a better speaker. Right now, I think his biggest stumbling block will be the sky-high expectations. When you're expected to blow the other guy out of the water, just winning respectably seems like a disappointment. I'm curious to see how the GOP will try to lower expectations between now and then. If I learned nothing else in high school government class, it's that lowering expectations is the name of the game.

People are going to care more about the fiscal issues, so if Ryan answers those questions better even if Biden mops the floor with him in other areas, he'll win.
I'm just hopeful neither of them insults my intelligence and winks at the camera.
I actually think it'll be a good debate. Probably better than the last VP debate (although that trainwreck was must-watch TV and entertaining in its own right).
Also, I find Biden amusing, in general, so I'm sure I'll be entertained regardless. By that, I don't mean, "I find his gaffes amusing," either. I just think he's a sorta funny guy and is pretty likable.

When Obama chose Biden back in '08, I was saying that I kind of wish Biden were my uncle. You know he'd make a great uncle at Thanksgiving dinner.

Nothing will be better than the last VP debate. EVER. I forget what words I was required to drink to, but I was so drunk by the end of the night.

If there are questions about foreign policy, I think Biden will win that part hands down. I also think he has the down-to-earth way of addressing people and policies that will go over well when it comes to the middle class.
Yes, he is gaffe-prone, but he knows a lot and is a sensitive, caring guy.

EXACTLY.
Biden reminds me of my own uncles and my grandpa. He's my kind of people. If I'm being really honest, he reminds me of myself sometimes, lol. I totally say inappropriate things at family dinners. He also strikes me as someone who has the ability to laugh at himself, which I like.
I think it's going to be really interesting. Biden is definitely not as dumb as some people try to claim he is, and I feel like the two of them might have an actual good debate, if they're allowed to go at it. I agree with bunny, that Paul Ryan isn't as good of a speaker as people are trying to paint him as.

I think if they stray off slashing programs, Biden will take it. I just don't think Ryan has much depth to hold his own in anything other than what's he's made his specialty.

If Biden can stay serious and not aim for wit, he can really hold his own. I expect it will be a really good debate. They're both charismatic and articulate. It seems rare to have two VP candidates with such charisma, actually.
I don't think Biden is dumb. I think he has a filter problem that could translate into hilarity during a VP debate. But I remember the Biden/Palin debate, where everyone said he'd mop the floor with her. He tamed himself down so much that debate was straight up boring. This time I hope they both let their lights shine, so to speak. I wish we as a country could make a rule that nothing they say will be held against them in the election, and then it would be PPV worthy.

I think it will be boring. They are both career politicians and besides a funny misspeak here or there they'll just keep to the talking points. But maybe I'm wrong.
What I would love to see is a Obama/Ryan debate. I've been reading about their history over the last couple years. They would actually intellectually spar over the philosophy behind the budgets.
