Remind me - how old is she again? Is she going through any major developmental milestones right now?
It might not have been the right move, but we did let M play during the MOTN when he was young. There was no getting him to sleep no matter what we tried so we just took shifts. Usually it lasted 2-3 days & he was back to normal. It was like his brain was in overdrive because he was working on a new skill.

My answer is always molars. But seriously, I have one of those homedics sound machines that has a projector on the top. I would get one of those and if she wakes up in hysterics, go in and turn on the projector and let her party in her crib until she goes to sleep.

We resolved by sending in DH. Kiddos wanted to nurse or mommy snuggles. Apparently daddy snuggles were not as exciting and they would go back to sleep.
Also, switching to a twin bed helps because you can lay with them for a few minutes and most of the time they would go right back to sleep. Honestly the best decision ever for us. Just lay the mattress on the floor.
We went through similar at that age. I think it was teeth. I don't think I figured out how to fix it, I think he just "grew out of it"/finished teething. It lasted several days - a week and happened a few times in the next few months. Godspeed. Those nights were hard.
Sleep Lady Shuffle worked for us at that age. It still involved some crying though, due to DS1's personality.
What is the Sleep Lady Shuffle? How does that work?
Essentially, you sit next to them until they fall asleep. As they get comfortable, you move increasingly further away. It took DS1 about 6-8 weeks before he started falling asleep on his own without us in the room, but I think that's just a byproduct of sleep training past the 12mo mark.
