I just spent 2 hours on the phone with Comcast trying to fix the crazy billing issues I am having with them. They are the absolute worst company to deal with. After 2 hours I still need to wait 7-10 days to hear from a supervisor. I would never, ever, ever recommend dealing with them.
I just switched from ATT to Comcast. ATT was the worst to deal with. I had them for 10 years. I probably had to call about problems with my bill or Internet at least 6 times a year. Horrible!! And slow!! Oh my gosh I hate ATT.
Are you a cord cutter? 3mbps is not really enough for netflix. AT&T seems like a no-brainer.
You can buy a 3rd party modem so that you don't have to lease it. It pays for itself after about a year. You do not need to upgrade your modem very often (like, you probably wouldn't have to until gigabit is available in your area)

Yes, we are cord cutters and I WAH, but I've never had an issue. (I feel like sometimes with these companies they bill you for whatever speed, but just give everyone the same thing. Conspiracy theory!) It could be that our local service provider is just awesome (Wowway). We are moving downtown and they don't service that area.
I ended up going with ATT and did a bundle and got a good price. $44/month for 18mbps and local home phone (that we will never use). Their modem/router lease is only $7/month and we might not be here more than a year, so I just did that.
