DD2 will be 8 mo old next week and has been on Alimentum rtf since I stopped bf'ing at about 8 weeks. She has/had severe reflux and was initially diagnosed with MSPI. She's on nexium 2x a day. Since starting solids, she's done great and at our last GI appt, he suggested weaning off of rtf and trying a sensitive formula to see if she's outgrown MSPI so to speak. We started adding just an ounce at a time of Similac sensitive and initially she did fine. Actually, the 1st 3 nights she had longer stretches of sleep than she's ever had. Every 5 days I would up an ounce but she became extremely gassy after 2 weeks had 2 nights that she woke up 10+ times a night crying from what appeared to be gas. Prior to this she would wake up once a night to eat & go back to sleep. She appears to be pretty content during the day other than when she is gassy. I made it ahead of time so that it wouldn't be bubbly and foamy. What would be another formula you would try? Gentlease? Gerber Soothe? Obviously it would be nice to find a cheaper formula but at the same time I feel like if it's not broke, don't fix it and just leave her on rtf. Other than just gassiness though, I don't think she had an issue with the formula.

We actually went the other route with nutramigen. Our gi just had us try soy and milk based food, very slowly. We started with soy based bread products, next came baked in dairy and then moved to yogurt and then eventually cheese.
We kept his formula the same until we weaned off of it at 11.5 months and moved to cows milk.

For DS1 this is what we did. We went from nutramigen to cows milk. Nutramigen and Alimentum still have cows milk protein just broken down. You have a few months left so I'm in if it ain't broke don't fix it category and do the swap to milk.
