I just finished My Sisters Keeper (Jodi Piccoult) and LOVED it so much! Wow. the ending!
Currently reading
Dragonfly in Amber (audio book)- I am enjoying this, but honestly I need a break. I shoul dhave gave it some time after book 1 , bc i am just not good with LONG books. I like to get to the end quickly, thats what keeps me motivated!!
I just started I Know this Much Is True by wally lamb, I am a few pages in, and once again the thickness of the book is such a turn off to me! grrr, wish i could over come this, but I need some shorter, lighter reads to keep me motivated
I also picked up The Husbands Secret The Great gatsby and another Piccoult book at a used book sale yesterday (Plus some kids books for my classroom!)
QOTD I am boring. Probably MONEY because I do not know what they would want and figure thats what they could use most
I am re-reading The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. I loved it the first time I read many years ago, but this time it is soooo slow for me and I'm not sure what I loved about it.
QOTW: gift card to somewhere near where they are going to school? Or to someplace like target that has everything. Framed memento from their high school or town. But I'd probably just give money.
I just finished In Cold Blood last night, and I liked it, but didn't love it. Also started Dragonfly in Amber and am wtf at the beginning- I need to find out how they got to that point!
For a casual friend, I typically write a check for the amount of the graduation year, so this year I'd do $20.15. If it's a closer friend/family member, just cash. Cash is king!
I'm still reading the Wifes of Los Alamos. It's not too long. Hopefully I will finish today. I just haven't had too much reading time lately with work, volunteer projects and house stuff.
Audiobook: I'm finishing up "The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla" by Lauren Willig. Then I need to finish up "Sacrilege" by S.J. Parris Then finishing up "The Invisible Bridge" by Julie Orringer
Print book: Daily Rituals: How Artists Work by Mason Currey
I felt like something light, so I read Anne of Green Gables and am on Anne of Avonlea now. I definitely liked it better as a child. Anne's rambling monologues (especially in the first book) are exactly like my son's and are more annoying than endearing. But, I did get the ENTIRE Anne collection (including some spin offs) for $.99 for my kindle.
I started The Circle last night, but I'm not far enough into it yet to have formed an opinion yet (although based on what I've read so far, I think this book is likely to annoy me).
QOTW: My BFF's kids will get cash, but if anyone else non-family were to send me an announcement they'd likely get a WTF and then nothing.
I'm finishing up The Matchmaker by Elin Hilderbrand for my book club this weekend and I'm also switching between The Blood Bargain by Macaela Reeves and You by Caroline Kepnes for fun.
QOTW: I would also write a check for $20.15 for a non family member.
I was reading Miss Peregrine's etc but it got too weird for me. Switched to Me Before You, which I guess is OK so far.
I'm listening to Every Day by David Levithan and I'm not loving it. I get irritated with YA romances these days - we get it, you have an epic love story. Except you're 18 so I doubt it'll last the year.
i read Miss Peregrine and finished it but just thought it was ok

I'm still reading An Old Betrayal, it's moving much quicker than it started, but I'm having trouble staying awake for mare than two or three chapters at a time. I'm hoping to finish by Tuesday.
QOTW: My original idea was a gift card to Amazon or Target to outfit her dorm room, but then I decided to go old school and I got her a quality fountain pen, ink, and personalized note cards. I have a feeling I'm going to be that family friend. Oh well.
I'm late, but reading Landline by Rainbow Rowell and listening to The Family Man by Eleanor Lipman. Both are good, and exactly what I needed after a string of heavier, serious type reads.
QOTW: my go to is usually cash with a smaller item like a photo frame, book, etc.
