Yesterday's bedroom delivery and decoration was a success! We need to hang the pictures we got, but I am totally going to AW and ask for feedback on a few things soon
irene adler, the kids are what held me back from a single weekend binge. SUCH JERKS.
omg I have the world's worst hangover. But it was SO worth it.
DH and I went to IKEA yesterday and spent nearly $600 on our new living room set up, new bedding and random other things. On the way home, we decided to pop into a bar near our new house that we wanted to check out. We ended up meeting a bunch of people and having a blast hanging out. Then the bartender got off work and invited us to her house for a party to watch the fight. So we got home at midnight, instead of 5pm. I haven't had a random night like that in years. DH is still sleeping, after waking up long enough to eat the breakfast burrito I walked down the street to get.

Right!?!? I kept thinking "even really self-absorbed people have to have some redeemable qualities., right?" Nope
I watched the last episode of the season this morning, and I wanted to cheer when he had the conversation with the youngest daughter.
I just ordered a green juice from a juice place in Penn Station. The guy didn't take the sticker off the apple. I didn't say anything because I figured he HAD to take it off at some point. I figured wrong. So I am drinking apple celery kale sticker juice.

I just bought three pairs of Levi's skinny jeans for $60 at the outlet store. I also bought eight pieces from the BF outlet for $46. I love that I can use my AAA card there for a 10% discount.
The whole time I kept thinking, I can't wait to go home and get rid of a whole bunch of clothes, and bring on the basics.
MH is working on a 10 page paper today and is super stressed. I'm cuddling in bed with the cats because I gave my final presentation for the semester on Friday night. I don't feel even slightly bad about this.
I am putting off writing my bio for the public library leaders fellowship I was selected for. I'll do it tomorrow. I also need to update my resume. Another thing I'll do tomorrow. Cuddling with the kitties sounds like a better plan.

My weekend is 99% recovering from my trip to NYC. It was amazing. I'll bore you all down with the details later. But the weekend has been napping, keeping and irritated ankle elevated, binge watching Netflix while doing 7+ loads on laundry and trying to get ready to go back to work tomorrow.
@ruralrabbit1, since I clearly haven't been keeping up with the world of competitive speaking I didn't realize blogs were allowed. I mean, I'm not surprised they are but wow there's now so much out there! What category would that be in? Prose?
It was in prose. One of the judging questions was, does the selection have literary merit. That's very open to interpretation. I felt the piece did. The blog post was picked up by the Huffington Post as well. I'm not sure I'd that gives it more credibility or not. It's all changed so much since I was competing. Back when I was competing, we didn't have internet at home or even school yet.
I've decided to get rid of most of my clothes and just get basics and accessorize.
I've been packing up and stuff, and I just have way too many clothes. I don't live that kind of life anymore, and with me going to school and likely wearing scrubs all of the time, it doesn't make sense to have them.
I'm excited. I'll keep most of my dresses and probably some suits, but the other stuff, time to go. It's freeing.
We are here >>><<<. I've basically decided that I'm going to wear mostly black and white this spring/summer and see how I feel about trimming my wardrobe quite a bit. I know it won't be as feasible in the fall and winter, but so far, it's going great. I came to this conclusion after noticing how much black and white (clothing and home decor) I pin on Pinterest. It's my favorite, so I don't know why I'm complicating my life and closet with the rest.
Yup, black and white is so versatile. Can jazz it up with any bright colors.
I mostly bought black today. I plan to get a denim dress and jumpsuit and maybe some white jeans and that'll be it.
I saw some denim dresses on eshakti, that I'm eyeing
My parent's neighbor accidentally rear ended my poor accord last night. I got out, looked at it, and said "aww man, again?" Neighbor felt really bad and upset about it all. Today I told him not to worry and don't feel bad. They're just cars. Plus this will be my poor Accord's 3rd or 4th bumper. It didn't even phase me. I am shockingly way too breezy about it. He laughed and said so that's what you meant by again lol.
Sucks because I was going to drive my dogs in it 8 hours to our new home next Sunday. Now I'm not sure what to do. Keep it here to fix then drive up or find a place to fix it once I get up there? In pretty sure the body shop I usually take it to will say the same thing "again?"
Fix it at home. You know the people and dont have to worry about a shop doing shoddy business. Plus, it'll be way cheaper there.
The problem is I need to take another car up there so I can drive to the metro. I will be living a helluva ways out...ok 6 miles but still. I could take the M6 now but it's going to be hard on the dogs (back seat barely fits 2 small kids) and I don't really want to put the miles on it, not to mention the mpg would suck.

Hmm, that is a dilemma. I'd maybe bring it back then. You could drive the M6 to the metro while your cat gets fixed.
