Did we talk about Kim K's documentary?

Just saw a preview of it- it is supposed to shine a light on mental illness and seeing it through social media. 

Part of me is shocked at Kim K wanting to bring awareness to something that isn't about her, part of me feels bad for thinking that, and the other part of me is wondering if she's referencing her brother and if she's using this to show that she cares about him (or get back at him).

Surprise: Kim Kardashian’s a documentarian. The reality star has executive-produced a doc for HLN called #RedFlag, which focuses on how social media can be used as a tool to help identify and assist young adults with mental illnesses. Dr. Drew Pinsky will be featured in a post-show following the premiere on the network.



According to a release, Kardashian came up with the idea as a way to inform and educate audiences about mental illness, inspired by the similar struggles of those she loved.



“I am blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that are loving and nurturing,” Kardashian said, “but not everyone has that kind of support. 25 percent of adults in America will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime, and many of them turn to social media to vent their depression, loneliness, and isolation.”



The documentary shines a light on the stories of two young people suffering from mental illness, as both used social media to voice their pain. It will premiere in May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.



#RedFlag is set to debut Tuesday, May 5 at 9 p.m. ET on HLN, followed by the live aftershow with Dr. Drew airing from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.

I feel like that too, but then it is such a serious topic that I felt bad thinking that. 

But it is a Kardashian.

I want to watch it for the mental health aspect, but I fully believe Kim K is in on it because it's another way to give her exposure.

Haven't there been studies or reports saying that excessive selfies are signs (or a part of or something) of mental illness?

Edit: I just looked it back up and it appears a lot of reports are pulling from a satire piece as if it was fact.

Because if it is, that's reaching Nicole Richie level of foolishness.

Kim K shouldn't be the champion of any cause, mental illness or otherwise. She takes away from the cause rather than helps it.
