I feel like most grandma's do not look like the grandmas of my youth. You fall into this category. When you google Grandma, you do not look like those results. So good job!

ITA. I even feel like when I look at pictures of my grandparents and parents at young ages, they just "seem" older lol. 30 is the new 20! Lol
I think there is a 7? year age difference between my little brother and my nephew. So my mom was a grandmother and had a 7 year old. Granted, she had my oldest sister at 21 and my sister had her kid at 21 or 22, soooo, yeah, my mom was only in her 40s.
My mom was a grandma when I was 4, and she was 40! And then my brother became a grandpa when he was 39 and had a 9 month old ha Grandparents these days definitely don't look like MY grandparents! Also, congratulations!

I have a 34 y/o patient who is a grandma x2! And lots of women who grew up here start getting all jittery if they DoN'T become a grandma by the time they are 40. I became a mom at 37

Crazy! I'm working on being a Mom at well, older than 37. Hopefully this year once my back is manageable!! Ha, Grandmother....damn, I'll be...I'm just not finishing that thought!
I had my first kid at 21 and my mom had just turned 38 a few days before. Both her and my dad were grandparents in their 30s. I had my second in my 30s. My mom is 52 now but sure as heck doesn't look it and looks like she could be my youngest daughter's mom (she's 3). I'm 35 and I can't imagine being a grandma in a few years. No way. So speaking of, my 14 year old just notified me the other day that a 7th grader in her school is pregnant. The kid is 12. That is sad.

I had a patient yesterday who had 5 kids by the time she had her hysterectomy at age 20....she started at 13. it is very sad and we do see them that young from time to time. Unfortunately there is usually some sort of abuse in the back ground.
