I shunned arugula for years because I thought it was raddicho and I hate bitter tasting things. I figured it out and realized it is tasty and peppery and now like it.
hab: Quinoa (for those who like it) tastes like a slightly nutty couscous which doesn't absorb sauce as well. Like couscous isn't exciting. It is something to put under the interesting stuff. I haven't found it to be so expensive, but we buy it at TJs and I'm not serving everyone a giant ass portion.
Yeah, I don't think it's ridiculously expensive. It's just more expensive than other grains or SEEDS as someone pointed out.
Although, actually, I think it might be cheaper than other seeds though more expensive than other grains.
Mix still hot pasta with a can of cannelini beans, a can of decent tuna in oil, big handfuls of arugula and a little extra drizzle of olive oil - omfg, so good!
fields: I've taken the quinoa out of the "veggie, bean, quinoa" breakfast pot because a toddler who won't use cutlery + quinoa is too messy. DH is sad (he likes to snack on the leftovers).
