DS has my stomach bug and is pretty miserable. He hasn't gotten sick for a little while, but he's complaining his head hurts which worries me about dehydration. I would probably do 1/2 tablet to 12-14 ounces of water and let him sip on it. Artificial sweetners normally don't bother him. We have no pedialtye or gatorade in the house and I don't want to drag him out to get some (or expose other people). He will be 7 this weekend.
Thank you!! Do you normally dilute it more or just make it according to the directions? I had been thinking of this already for our August trip to disney because nuun would be easier to carry around than gatorade.

I would.
However, my 7-year-old DS got dehydrated earlier this year and had to be admitted to this hospital because he had acidosis and his blood sugar was very low. So, I would try to get him to take something with a little sugar in it also.
The biggest sign to me that he was dangerously dehydrated was that he was very lethargic. He spent an entire day just laying on the couch staring into space. He didn't even want the iPad or the TV on.
I make it like I do for myself, which isn't exactly like the directions, but pretty close.
With or without the champagne?
This reminds me of my friend who sent his kids to school with Gu....the kind with caffeine. Needless to say he got a strongly worded letter sent home from the teacher.
