My nephews sound like a pack of elephants with megaphones. I can't believe how much noise they can generate. My nieces are loud, but the nephews are LOOOUUUUUUDDDD.
Boys don't SHRIEK. The shrieking, OMG. Anna doesn't do it, but Sophia started and I'm having nightmares about it. It is horrible. My friends' 5yo shrieks when she is excited, and she manages to scare all the other kids out of the basement because it hurts their ears.
My son is sooo loud. Omg, we went to Chipotle for dinner and he was shrieking in the bathroom and it was echoing and I thought my ears were going to burst. Seriously, I know where that kid is all the time, quiet is not something he can do.
My daughter is a constant source of noise. Just talktalktalktalktalktalktalkYELLtalktalktalk. My son, on the other hand, is more of a silent predator (while he hops around, pressing buttons, opening and closing doors, taking the lids off of everything, moving stuff around, trying to start the dishwasher, etc.)..............then BAM "SHREEEEEEEEK" he decides he wants to imitate Michael Phelps and does his version of a pool whistle and then pretends he's the crowd and OMG the NOISE.

THIS. Omg there was a spider in the bathroom two weeks ago, I think SD2 almost broke my eardrum. SD2 talks non.stop. Her stories drag on forever and when she gets to the end you realize you listened to her for 10 minutes about the time she decided she likes cheese pizza better than pepperoni. SD2 whines constantly: "Dyyyyaaaaaaaaaaadddddyyyy, Immmmmm boooooorrreeed.". When their friends are over, multiple shrieks and giggling turns into shrieking. It is so frickin noisy! They are 9 and 11. I'm baking a baby boy here so I might have more to report in 5 years. I definitely remember my brother doing the most awesome sound effects when we were kids though...
