Hey ladies! Any fun weekend plans? It's a long weekend in the US and I need the extra day off!
My H's best friend is driving in from Delaware with his wife. I think we are going to do dinner and gambling at the casino on Saturday. Sunday will be something outdoors, possibly the zoo or kayaking at the lake. (I will not be kayaking! I've got a weird phobia of fish and large bodies of water. I'm weird) I also want to grill out Sunday night. Tonight I need to clean my apartment so it is somewhat presentable when they arrive tomorrow.
scm1011 An 80's birthday party sounds so fun! My sisters and I are going to see an 80's cover band next weekend and I'm excited to dress up for it. I need to get my hands on a crimper!
This weekend is a little of everything - going to check in on my parents, out with friends, and then seeing another friend on Monday. I tried to make plans for each day so I feel like we're actually doing something rather than wasting time away.
We don't have a lot planned because it's going to be raining all weekend. I usually complain about rain, but I'm ready for it to go away for a little bit.
Today is DD's last of school so she will be celebrating with a sleepover at the ILs. DH and I are going to the movies and dinner. I don't know what we will do the rest of the weekend. Hopefully, Monday's weather might hold off a little so we can grill some burgers.
Also, I will try my hardest to hold off testing until Monday. The struggle is real!
Whoa. I wouldn't pay to go to a friend's party. Unless it was a fundraiser. I'm happy to bring beer, or a dessert etc. but I draw the line at an admission fee. You are a better person than I am, starryfish.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
We have a party to go to Sunday hosted by my husbands friend at their house. They are charging everyone for food and beer, wtf? Bad etiquette
Whut?
In my circle its totally normal to say "hey, we'll have grillables, but please bring whatever you plan to drink and if you wouldn't mind bringing a bag of chips that'd be great too!" but to full on charge people? Yikes.
ETA: Actually that's not even true, its usually just beer you have to bring. I always ask if there is anything else I can contribute and people sometimes say chips or ice or whatever. Do you know your entry fee in advance? lol

Yea....we told them we were not paying for me bc I don't drink beer nor eat crawfish
Tonight we're taking it easy at home. I had a loooong week and he's been doing a ton of stuff around the house. I'm about to pour some wine. Tomorrow I want to take the dog for a hike and let him go for a swim. Sunday we're having some friends over to grill. Monday I'm going into the office for a few hours to take advantage of the quiet and get work done.
H and I are having our housewarming party today. When I planned it I thought it was the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. Epic fail on my part. Most of our invited guests will be OOT because it's a long weekend. *sigh* Oh well. At least my house is clean.

Update on the party....it was today... $20 a person plus you had to bring a side item and dessert. Also to collect the $ she had a sign in sheet so they could track who paid! <insert shocked face here>

Just heading back to Miami to go home. We've spent the last 5 days in Key West and it's so hard to leave! However, I'm excited to get home to our kitties...I miss the little fur beasts!
