I'm still waiting to receive our tax refund from the state. We filed our taxes on April 10, and the amount we owe the federal was pulled out of our account three days later.
On a scale of "meh, it'll show up" to "oh shit", where should I fall on this spectrum?
Eta--turns out our state taxes are never filed. Dh found the "come back and answer a few more questions to file your state return!" Email he previously ignored. So we finished filing today--thanks California for the automatic extension for anyone who doesn't owe.
Between this and discovering the 7 button is not working on the electronic lock on our safe (which is a problem when it's part of the combination) it has been a bit stressful here.

Did you file electronically or by mail?
We filed by mail in NJ & PA and haven't received anything yet from either state. I looked online and it said it would take at least 6 weeks, so I'm not worried yet.
Most states have a way to look it up or at least provide some information about expected timing.
I just received our city tax refund (a whopping $11) last week. So I probably would be too worried yet. Now after June 15, I would start contacting someone.

This is all good to hear. I feel like I'm crawling out of my busy season hole and trying to catch up on everything else that happens in life that does not involve finishing out the school year/wedding season
It's been 8 weeks since we filed our state and we're still waiting. We tried calling and all we got was that something was held up with ours but that person didn't know what and we were transferred to the correct department. After 45 min on hold we gave up. I suppose we should try calling again. Ugh.

Did you move this year by any chance? We did not get ours until we completed an additional address verification form online. We got something in the mail that looked pretty generic and to be honest I almost didn't open it and it instructed us to go to a website to confirm our new address in reenter the amount of the expected refund. Once I did that I got it two days later.
Our state refunds always take a horrendous amount of time. I might give it another week or so since you filled so close to tax day but it also couldn't hurt to follow up now if you are worried.
