I know I don't post much here, but I am up late with anxiety and thought I would share with you ladies in case you have any words of wisdom.
Because of the trampoline accident and knee injury I had back in May I have not been to work since May 4th. I have done a very small amount of work from home, but have been warned that my disability pay could be compromised if I do work.
I am going back on Monday and I am so nervous and scared! I have over 3800 emails to sift through and 6 annual reviews that were due while I was out that I feel pressure to get done ASAP for those teammates. My company is an extremely fast growing, ever changing environment and so there will be a TON that I have missed and I will be reporting into a new manager, so I have that relationship to build in addition to everything else.
Im sure thats tough, but don't look at the big picture. Its too overwhelming. Just one day/one email at a time. You've been out for awhile, and it all wont get done it one day. When it gets overwhelming just step away, take a deep breathe, and relax. Your best is all you can do.

"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
That is stressful but like pp said, one thing at a time., make lists! And have lots of wine/beer and your favorite shows ready at home for after work to help shut off your brain :-)
Thanks ladies for the words of encouragement, I will really try to take a step back and just do one thing at a time.
We have 2 other supervisors on the team and they did pick up the slack of all the day to day. The emails are all updates (my departments interacts with every other department and things literally change on a daily basis) and coaching for my team that were done while I was out. All the day to day things were taken care of, but I am the only one that has all the info for the last year about each person to do their review, sure I could pass it on, but it wouldn't be first hand knowledge. We don't do temps its just too much to learn, there is about a 6 month ramp up for new supervisors and the remaining 2 supervisors were swamped because we have 90 people in our department.

I get stressed just coming back from vacation to emails, so I can only imagine. Hopefully once you start plowing through it, it will get better quickly. Kick some ass!
