I have 16 feet worth of lower cabinets now installed in our sunroom. It is awesome! I can't wait to organize it all. And I knew it was a A LOT of cabinets but I didn't quite realize how much 16ft. worth was..lol.
I'm feeling much better tonight. The kids slept okay-ish at my Mom's. I picked up a Take N Bake for dinner. I'm on my second glass of wine. I have a face mask on. I sense a fight coming on with H but he was in a better mood when I got home tonight so hopefully we turn our funk around.
I also went to a really nice Target yesterday with a friend (the ones here are pretty basic but fine) and I may now know why you all love it so much...haha.
3+ hours of yard work was probably too much today. DH and I barely got E bathed and in bed. And we even napped (after sex) in the afternoon. We're both wiped, but the flower bed is in and I got the azaleas pruned.
Tomorrow is errands and maybe sneaking off for some shopping during nap.
We spontaneously went to a food truck picnic for dinner and then DQ after and I feel like a real parent today. Lol that skipping our planned dinner and eating grilled cheese and walking tacos feels grown up to me.
Also hipsters. Man. Food trucks attract a certain type.
Speaking of.
I ran into hipsters with 23523523 requests today at Starbucks. People were literally staring. LOL. It was a sight in a Target Starbuck's small town farm country rural USA...lol.
I love that when you have a baby, people bring you food. I love not cooking sometimes. I did bake banana blueberry honey oat bran muffins today. And I survived DH's mood - I am beginning to wonder if HE has PPD. And yes, I know it is technically 'a thing'.
I am slightly worried that P eats in really small amounts - like more often than every 3 hours, but small feeds - 10 - 15 minutes most of the time. I think it is because of my let down/over prod., which I am trying to work on.

L and I went 13 hours between nursing sessions today (just at wake up and bedtime) and he took two naps without nursing to sleep! H rocked him to sleep for one and the 2nd was a car nap so not a total success but a start. We've never gone that long before and I was definitely a little sore. I probably should've dropped one session at a time but I am so ready to be done nursing during the day. If we are able to stick with just morning and night, I'll be so happy! When I did take a boob out to nurse him at bedtime he squealed with delight. It was so cute!
My inlaws' house is so gross, guys. My standards of cleanliness is not even that high but imagine you bought a house 40 years ago and never cleaned it, painted or did any upkeep at all.
I have the day off by myself tomorrow (it's not a holiday here) and I'm figuring out my schedule. Thinking: drop B, go for a run and a long shower, go to Starbucks and read, Costco and shoe shopping, haircut. Then relax at home until H and B are home. Lunch out somewhere in there.

DD has a blanket with a hood on it. She's been wearing the hood pre-bed and insisting she's Elsa.
But then when she goes in her crib, it falls off and she spends forever trying to get it back on her head but also cover her body. I think it's getting "lost" tomorrow.
rugbywife Have you tried letting down into a burp cloth, so he's not choking on it? I had a huge oversupply and forceful letdown and it really helped. Plus he was getting more of the hindmilk then because he was willing to nurse slightly longer.
H and my sister's boyfriend are literally camping in my driveway right now. They grilled outside of the RV and are now having a bonfire. Who did I marry?

I'm annoyed with dh. We got home from his parents place and I was feeling sick from the car ride. I didn't say anything because we were straight into kids bedtime. Once I got a chance to speak to him I asked him if he'd do me a favour and, once he had ds1 in bed (something that takes 5mins after I finish reading his books) could he drive the 1/4 mile down the road to buy me a bottle of gingerale.
All of a sudden he's griping and complaining that he's soooo exhausted (why? He got more sleep than I did and I gave him a kid free hour alone in the house this morning) and he was planning to just go immediately to bed but fine, he'll go get it for me.
Anyway, I leave him with ds1 and then spend close to an hour battling ds2 who doesn't want to sleep. Finally I come out and dh is awake and reading in bed. So obviously I really cut into his sleep time in the 5mins he was out of the house. The only reason I didn't snark at him was because I was because I just wanted to lie down on the couch with my gingerale and concentrate on not puking.

Went to my parents' for a cookout tonight. DS asked them if he could spend the night, they were thrilled to have him. I'm a little relieved that we won't have to deal with the usual post-grandparents' house meltdown that always occurs when we go home from my parents' house.

I need to start doing this before I even start him on the boob, I was doing it mid feed, at which point he was already pissed off. To be fair, I only started to over supply like a day ago...I am suddenly remembering all these parts of BFing!
We went to the marina for dinner tonight while the guys returned the rented boat. So me, my friend and four kids, four and under and it took an HOUR to get our food. Dude. Service was horrendous, at least bring us some crackers or you know, keep us informed with wtf is going on. I know it's probably their first big weekend but we had great service Friday night so I was surprised.
Time to get the kids to bed and then it's our turn for the hot tub/pool while our friends hang out at the condo with sleeping kids.

DS hasn't slept since Thursday night. He has been up the past 2 nights crying on and off due his sickness. He is now on an inhaler. Ugh. Hoping tonight is better, i need sleep, I'm desperate.

We've had a great few days. My BFF and her family came into town Friday. Yesterday, we went to the Bronx Zoo and all the kids, two toddlers and two infants, were fantastic. So much fun. We had a great brunch and time today and they left this afternoon. Tomorrow we have having a low-key family day.
Wonderful friend and family time. Our kids played so well together.
