We are having a "staycation" in LA/OC and being tourists in our own backyard! We have already done a bunch of things that we have never done, and today we are doing more. I'm most excited for our hike to the Hollywood sign! We're also going to the LA Zoo and planetarium.

Okay so this doctor (different than normal AND different than last week's) said I am 3cm and 50% effaced and that he's head down and in perfect position. He said I won't make it another week. I've heard that before... This office/hospital does not allow elective inductions before 41 weeks. I asked (read:begged) a few times and he said "their hands are tied". Boo. I asked for a membrane sweep and he assured me that he "roughed up my cervix" enough when checking my progress. But it didn't hurt at all, so I'm doubtful. I was a bit crampy when I got to the car and had one sorry half assed contraction on the ride home. About to go on a (mile long) walk around the neighborhood with Pey.
I gagged when C copied his friend and drank his cereal milk yesterday. Milk is disgusting enough without being room temp with soggy grain bits floating around.
My throat hurts so bad. I need a day just to sleep but Dj works all weekend. im really over my husbands family. Currently out of 7 adults none are working. Mil and sil are diabled but I'm really over them taking advantage of Dh and assuming we will pay for everything whenever they want to get together. From food to gas money to come down and visit. I'm just over it and their drama.
I am getting a cold so I have decided on a lazy day at home. I think I need to do this more often lol. She hasn't had a single tantrum or even cried and its 11. I guess sometimes she needs lazy days too.

What time are you doing the observatory? It's my favorite place in SoCal. I'm trying to think of the Mexican place we eat at around there...it will come to me...
I think The Children's Place won the 4th of July dresses again this year. I'm probably getting both. 1 for the 3rd when we have our cook out and one for when we go see the fireworks.
Ok, I need those. S wore her 4th of July dress yesterday since I was worried she would grow out of it before next month.
I'm watching shit go down on facebook. A friend of mine got married yesterday, so people are starting to post pictures. There's a photo of the bride and the MOH, both with wine glasses in their hands. Somebody asked the MOH if she should really be drinking because of her "current condition." MOH asked what she meant. Poster said that since she was clearly pregnant, she should not be drinking wine. But MOH isn't pregnant. (And not overweight. And in no way pregnant looking, AT ALL)
I keep refreshing to see what the poster says to dig herself out of that hole.
ruh roh, I'd be grabbing my popcorn too. Let us know how that goes.

I have never drank the cereal milk...but now that I'm pregnant I get really gaggy around it. I have to eat the cereal really fast before it gets soggy.

Maternity leave success! I just had my six week (by the way how is my baby six weeks already?!?) check up today. My eight weeks of maternity leave was going to be over on June 8, but school doesn't end until June 18. The practice I go to typically doesn't write you out for additional time. When I asked my doctor for my back to work note today she asked me when I wanted it for, so I told her June 19 and she happily wrote it. Now I don't have to go back at all before school ends and I get paid now through the whole summer! 4.5 months of paid leave!

ok so apparently the strep was antibiotic resistant! But then he said actually it wasn't.. she just waited too long for antibiotics. I don't know what to believe!
I can't stop freaking out about this even though I know it's pointless as it's too late now
strep is one thing but if they have unleashed some kind of mutant antiobitic resistant strep upon our household I am going to FREAK OUTTTT

My H is an idiot. I was bitching at him that we need new tires yesterday, and he didn't want to do it. Our low pressure gauge went on yesterday morning, so I had him take me to a gas station to check them. One was particularly low, and the rest could use air anyways. So, I filled them up, and we went on our merry way. This morning, he left for work and was back at the house within 2 minutes. The gauge was back on. So, particularly low tire was low again. Yay slow leak! I left him with Zoe and went back to the gas station, and the tire was nearly as low this morning as it was yesterday morning. I came home and told him the tire was going to need to be replaced. He said, "We'll talk about it." I told him he needs David to help him put air in the tire before he drives home tonight and he said, "He won't help me" and then he left.
This morning I was grumpy with DH so he texted me later to ask if it was a rough night. My response was that I was just grumpy and that ever day was the same. He ask me in what way? So I told him I just feel like I need some me time. He says "I know, I'm sorry." WTF? No, the response should be, "I know. You sacrifice your body, time and everything else for our kids so I will see what we can do to make this happen this weekend." Seriously. Andrew freaks for anyone that isn't me or DH right now so it isn't like I can try a bottle (DH has given him ONE...while I was home as a test on mother's day) with anyone else. I need a break.
I just did my second Pure Barre class. I have no idea WTF I'm doing. Half the time in looking around at everyone wondering if they have any idea either - lots of tiny hip thrusting?
But I was sore for 3 days after the last one so I guess it works
Noooooo! DH's first flight is delayed. The second one isn't yet, and he only has an hour to make the connection. In Dallas. In different terminals. I NEED my husband home. It's been six days.

Unfortunately, the person who commented has either deleted their comments or had them deleted. I hate that there is no closure on this.
I'm about to go to my OB appointment. It's just a regular check up, but I'm going to ask if I can have another ultrasound to check on the status of that second sack. I haven't had any bleeding since the one episode, but I've had spotting on and off...I'm just wondering if it went anywhere? Did it absorb back into the other one? Or is it still there? It can't hurt to ask, and I'm really curious.
Usually your body just absorbs it. I was further along than you but there was no trace of the twin when I delivered.
@beth422 have you tried Fioricet? My OB prescribed that for my pg headaches
No but i'm writing it down. I have an appointment next week so i'll ask then. Thank you!
I had this prescribed by a neurologist when I was pregnant with V, but then with the 2nd pregnancy they told me it's not recommended in pregnancy. Just FYI! I'd try caffeine for sure.
