I originally wanted to paint the bulk of the house in a mid grey. It's darker than I expected, but I like the color over all. I definitely want it in the living room.
Now I'm thinking it's too dark for a whole house color, and I wanted to go a whole shade lighter for the hallways.
Can I still do the dining room dark?
Pic of where these colors would intersect to come.
I don't think it would look weird at all. I like the Ozark shadows. I tried a lighter color from the same card once though, and it had a really different appearance. (These were greens, and the lighter one seemed really minty. Would mixing the paint at 70" or 50% or something keep the shade, just making it lighter? I'm probably not putting this right. Anyway, if you like both colors, go for it!
I'm finding the darker the color on the card, the browner it is. The lightest definitely seems more blue.
I could try to lighten the hue, but I'm matching BM colors into SW paint. I feel like that's moving into the world of overly complicated. That's how I nailed down the kitchen color though.
Now my big decision is Artichoke (100%) or Good Earth for the exterior....

I did this in my house. We had 2 shades of blue that were next to each other on the same card. Our LR connects to the kitchen in such a way that there was no obvious place to change colors without a line, so I painted the darker blue of the living room all the way into a soffit in the kitchen, and the rest of the kitchen was the lighter blue. You can't tell at all. Since you've got actual transitions going on, I think even if the colors are significantly different it will look fine. It's quite possible that because the hallway is enclosed (I'm assuming) and probably darker, the two colors won't look much different anyway.
