So I've been looking for a pair for the last two years that fit my wants (4-5 inches, fit my calves, more of almond toe with small platform) but haven't been able to find any. So I was thinking I would start the hunt again but then I realized that I haven't really missed not having a pair, so now I'm thinking do I really need a pair. I've been wearing black booties (suede, leather, etc) as a replacement...So what do you think?

Not in black, no...but that's because I can't get the name "fuuck me boots" out of my head when I see them.
I have flat black knee high boots, and high heeled knee high boots in gray, dark green and dark brown. I usually just wear peep toe ankle booties with black tights during the winter when I need to wear black shoes with a skirt.
Honestly though, the gray and dark green act as neutrals and I get by fine without black boots.
Yes, I wear mine regularly. I have two pair. One with a pointy toe and one with a rounded toe. I would miss them if I didn't have them so I feel like I need them.
Yes, mine are Cole Haan. I bought them at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale 2yrs ago. They have about a 3" heel, a kind of almond toe, no platform, and a suede panel at the back of the calf.
No. I used to really want a pair, but then I realized they don't fit my lifestyle at all. I have a navy pair with a small heel and a brown flat pair. I seriously need to add to my boot collection.

No. I seem to keep trying, but I can never find a pair that doesn't look like a "night time/going out" kind of shoe. I have black ankle booties and cognac boots with a heel that I sub in.
Omigosh I don't think I could survive winter without heeled knee high black boots! I actually just bought a replacement pair that I am dying to wear like whoa.
