Oh no, I'm so sad to read this. I still have everything crossed for some kind of visa Hail Mary! I like the suggested reworking of the first paragraph and think the rest looks good. So many hugs to you!
I think the letter with the changed first paragraph is good.
I understand that you're devastated. Anyone in your shoes would be! Saying it in the letter will probably open yourself up to people reaching out to try and help you through this. No one wants to see someone they love "devastated." If you want/need/aren't bothered by that support, keep it in there. If you'd ratter just be left alone, I'd probably change it. Those who know you well obviously know you're devastated (& are probably devastated FOR you!).
I'm just so sorry that you're in this situation. I'll cross my fingers that you send this letter out today & everything arrives tomorrow.

Hugs. I mean big gigantic huge hugs with a big shot of whiskey on the side. I can't wait until you can get married and start your life and I wish the US weren't such assholes about it all. GAH!!!
Is there any way you could move to Scotland even without getting married? And both come back to get married next year?
(I'm sure you have thought about all those things already)
I can be there for 6 months, but I couldn't work.
We would end up divorced before we were even married lol.
I can't remember if you've already done the youth mobility visa, but if you haven't and are 30 or under, you (Canadian citizens) can work here for up to two years on it. The only issue would be if you wanted to switch to a dependant visa, you'd have to go back to Canada to do it. Feel free to disregard this as totally unhelpful if you've already used it up.
