I get another three day weekend! I'm taking Monday off since my husband has been out of the country for the past few weeks and he gets back late on Sunday.
On Saturday I'm supposed to go to a free concert/street festival thing, but we're supposed to have thunderstorms. I'll still go since there's a local band I want to see, but the weather will really put a damper on things.
On Sunday I'll be cleaning like crazy so my husband won't think I slacked too much while he was gone. Also, on Sunday my next round of tennis lessons starts again. I have no idea if this is something I'll continue doing long term, but there's a university tennis center about a mile from my house so I randomly signed up for lessons a few months ago and I like it so far!
Friends have a 'parents night out' tonight for a few hours so we are meeting them downtown for drinks. Saturday we are going to the farmer's market and then we go to pick up my car (windows are getting tinted today), maybe spend some time in the pool. Saturday night we are going to see a play at our local theatre. Sunday is our normal grocery shopping / Sunday family dinner.
I have a HR call this morning to discuss going back to a company I'd left 2 years ago in a related but not the same role. My friend, who used to be a manager at this company and still has ties there, recommends that I ask for 20% more than I made when I left. I know she is right but I am nervous!
This weekend I will hopefully sneak some wine tasting in among chores and work.
Tonight I'm going to dinner (sushi) with some couple friends and BF. I am assuming they are not bringing their 2 year old and baby, but I'm not sure?
Tomorrow afternoon BF and I have tickets to a beer festival. Then I assume we'll grab food somewhere and head home. I hope to cut the lawn and maybe do some other chore stuff before then so we can just relax on Sunday.
I really want to paint my house too (the inside) so I may get started on that on Sunday. I actually DON'T want to paint at all, but I want it painted, so I probably should just force myself at some point.
Tonight I'm heading to knit night/string therapy, then watching the end of the hockey game when I get home from that.
Tomorrow, the plan is to head to a friend's home and to try and make soap. I say "try" because we originally thought someone who knew what they were doing would be sort of leading the blind thru the process, but it seems that no one really has a clue (for example, no one in the group has discussed safety gear for handling lye yet...). So, uh, not sure how that will go.
Sunday, I've got my book/knitting club get together. Sheepishly, I haven't managed to make it even halfway thru the book we're reading, but oh well. The book is boring as crap.
And, the best thing ever! Our cleaner starts today! Yay! We will have a clean house tonight!
DD has an end of year party tomorrow for a school club she is in, but she is also taking her driving test this afternoon so I am hoping she can drive herself there and back. No more mom taxi service!
Sunday we may go visit SIL who will be at my ILs for a few days with our niece.
Tonight I'm making Texas toast grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and we are catching up on SVU on Hulu.
My ILs are still here (I'm a broken record with that these days) so today we are driving up north to see my grandmother. My MIL and grandma are roughly the same age and get along famously, so I'm glad they'll entertain each other. I have a ton of work stuff to do this morning before we leave, so I'm locked in our home office while everyone else makes noise.
Tomorrow is more IL stuff, and they are leaving early Sunday morning. DH doesn't know it yet, but we are going day drinking.

I have family drama and it's making me nauseous. My dad has been awful and it's gotten worse lately. My parents are in a rough spot and unfortunately my sister and I are in it. I don't know what exactly triggered it, I'm not sure anyone does. Dad said a lot of hateful things to mom about her dog. Then he said hateful things about mom and her dog to my sister. Sister called him on the carpet, so he's mad at her. He refused to go see sister and BIL with mom and is mad at mom that she went. My mom is lost and struggling. She thinks she must be doing something to make dad mad, which breaks my heart, I know how that it. She's trying to leave her dog with my sister in hopes that will make dad happy. I'm trying to convince her that a dog is not the cause of their marriage issues or dad's unhappiness.
Another example of his craziness. Last weekend he refused to go to my cousin's graduation. Cousin spends a few nights at her bf's house. That makes her a bad person and her parents bad parents. He told mom that if she went she's crazier than he thought. She ended up not going either to keep the peace.

Yardwork.... so so much yardwork this weekend. I need to mulch everything and weed all the beds. If I get through that I may start to plant the garden. H is helping a neighbor with a home repair project and will be gone most of the weekend. I am happy that he's being neighborly but miffed that he's going to be around to help with the yardwork.
Good! The recruiter didn't have full details on the position yet since it is still being created but said my range sounded in line with what she'd expect. So I talk to 2 managers next week, neither of whom I have met before but one is the boss of the friend that recommended me for this position. I'm calling another friend today to get info on the managers. Eep!
I am so excited! This means we are officially done with student loans in the forcuatro home. We paid off DH's student loans in early 2009 while they were still interest-free. I discovered recently that we weren't able to claim the interest last year on mine because DH made too much and, though the interest is low, it is still higher than we were getting from our savings account so we decided to pay them off soon. When I logged in this morning to make a payment I discovered that the was a nice, round number and it seemed fitting to pay off that amount today. I hate debt and this is super exciting.
Weekend plans- Today is the last day of school for the kids and DH was going to take the older ones camping but plans changed so we now have a free weekend. It is supposed to be 100 degrees tomorrow so we will probably do some yard work early in the morning when it is cooler and then take DS1 to the batting cages in the evening. There will also likely be some grocery shopping and house cleaning squeezed in there somewhere.
This is my last free weekend before I start studying again so I'm going to try to make the most of it.
Saturday morning the insurance adjuster will be out to examine our leaking roof and hail damage. After that we have to go pick up my husband's college textbooks (yay for him returning to school!!!). After that we will do some painting and organization around the house. Maybe even some yard work.
Sunday we are planning on doing something fun. Maybe wine tasting. Maybe a brewery tour. Maybe a movie. Maybe go see some historic stuff. The whole day is up to me, but I have no clue what I want to do.
I took a sick day today, slept really late, and ran some errands along with my doctor's appointment.
I don't know whether it's a result of being off-schedule or if I just talked myself into being sick, but I feel all out of sorts. My head is up in the clouds, I can't concentrate, and my energy is so low.
Update: DD is now a licensed driver. Thank all the powers that be. I don't know what I'm going to do with all the free time I have without having to drive her everywhere!!
Ugh. It's been forever since I had food poisoning, or even the flu. I'm miserable. My back aches from throwing up, I have restless legs but zero energy and H is worse shape than I am.
I just asked MIL to bring us BRAT approved food and Gatorade.
Stan important question: what is happening to Kate in that GIF!?!?!?
May was so warm here that we did a summery drink - Bay Breeze! 'twas delicious, but we ran out of vodka last weekend (which sometimes forces an early switch - it's like a sign from the gods that you need to move on) so it is now time to switch!!! www.food.com/recipe/bay-breeze-242941

@ shoe gal Do you have a mojito recipe? @ruralrabbit sorry to hear about the crazy family dynamics, hopefully it will calm down.
I'm so glad to be done with work. My head wasn't on it all week. H is back from a work trip tonight so we're making tacos and relaxing on the patio.
Tomorrow is cleaning the house and yard work- very much needed but I'm dreading it. Then we're headed to an old coworkers house for dinner.
Sunday is probably more yard work followed by day drinking and a pro soccer game with my old college roommate for his birthday. We get a big group together every year to celebrate, should be really fun!!
