...with your budget. Do you have anyone that is trustworthy/ responsible that can help you with this??
You mentioned a couple times making good money, so $500 a month for rent should not be breaking you unless you are wasting it on items you don't need.
For example in one of your pics I noticed you holding a cigarette. I will assume you are a pack a day person. I heard a pack of cancer sticks is over $7. So if you are smoking a pack a day...365 x 7 = 2550. Are you spending over $2500 a year just to slowly kill yourself?
How much do you drink? How often do you eat out? Do you live close to work and can take the bus or carpool with someone?
I guess my point is maybe if you budgeted your finances better you wouldn't even be in this dumpster fire of a situation where you almost shit the bed and moved in with this dude.
You aren't wrong, JM. But would you listen to someone who talked to you like this? My guess is no. Because you sound really assy and judgmental, and that's all she's going to focus on, and the decent things you've contributed are tossed out the window.
I get it. Everyone's frustrated with Liubot, and some of her choices are hard to understand. But give the poor girl a break. She was just raked over the coals about potentially moving in with this guy -- and she took it pretty well and CHANGED HER PLANS. That's HUGE.
She said in her post that some unexpected things with money came up, and that she is budgeted to the dollar. Shit happens. Cars break down, medications are expensive, things need replacing. I have no idea what the circumstances were that caused her rent check to bounce, and neither do you. Is it a good idea for her not to get things like tattoos and piercings until she has more of a cushion? Yes. I'm pretty sure that lesson's learned.
Also, as a former smoker? Knock off your rhetoric. We all know smoking is expensive and bad for us. This isn't new news. It's an addiction. It's not really easy to just up and quit. You just make us mad, which makes us want to smoke more.
She secured housing that's not with the boyfriend. She said that she's looking for a part-time job. Give her some credit.

Goz do me a favor and post a pic of your soap box.
My point is Liubot can relieve some stress by creating some breathing room with her finances. Relieving some stress would do her a world of good right now.
As for the smoking thing Goz, per my reply that was just an example. I never said "Hey save yourself $200 a month by not smoking and all your financial problems will be solved" Good lord.
I'm not on a soap box, and I don't see any hypocrites in here. I do, however, see one extraordinarily dim bulb whose backpedaling attempts are pretty weak.

I said I was fine with my tone, and you take that as I am back pedaling?
To quote you:
"Reading comprehension isn't your strong point is it?"
Squee! He just broke out, "I know you are, but what am I!!!!"
Y'know, when you're not intentionally being a dick in an attempt to be funny, you don't seem like a bad guy. But when you pull this shit, you really come across poorly. I'm frankly disappointed in myself for sinking to your level.

I have to agree with the PPs here. Message is valid. Delivery needs work. There are times where I like you jm and times like this where I disagree with you. The way it was worded was rude and demeaning.
And for extra points, how I would have worded it:

There are a lot of possible ways to budget better so you can try to keep from getting in a sutuation where you feel like you have to move in with a guy again.

I agree Roselis, your version is more tactful. A lot of times I just type away and focus more on the point I am making and focus less on worrying whose feelings I may hurt. That style has earned me quite a few flamings in the past, and no doubt some more in the future.
