Well, you can always get up for the 5 am start (eastern) tomorrow! Maybe the baby will be sleeping then.
They've got to do something about Azarenka's seeding for Wimby. It's not fair to her or her opponents that she's running into top seeds so early. Wimbledon's done in the past for the men's draw (just last year, moving Andy up). And if she can't make it past a third round, she can't get the points to move up. It's maddening.

I love watching all the opens, but i can never keep up with the schedules when there's such a time difference. I'm glad I saw this thread because I'm a Federer fan and I enjoyed watching Monfis play a few days ago, so I'm glad I didn't miss their match.

I have no love for Azarenka. I think she is good, but I don't like her. I think she cheated against Sloane Stephens in the Australian Open a couple of years ago and nothing was done. In her after match on court interview she basically said she had a panic attack because she was losing and called for a medical time out to compose herself.
But more than my dislike for her I am a believer in fairness. And they do it for other people so they should do it for her. Just like though Nadal is my absolute favorite, I think it is crazy that they haven't had the one ref on his matches for 4 months. Stop being a baby Nadal. Get over it.
I have a strange affection for the nutters. Remember Crazy Vera (Zvonerava)? Who, literally, had a nervous breakdown in the Wimbledon women's final. And then kept being insane for the Women's doubles final she had to play.
And the brother sister duo of Safin/Safina! Loveable lunatics, both. And, he's really hot too.
I agree, it is time for ump-gate to end. I am so amused that Nadal put his shorts on backwards though. With his OCD, you would think he's be checking for the Nike emblem before leaving the locker room.
pennypenny I didn't play at all before we moved to Malaysia and there was no way I could work. I hated being on the court and would have said I really sucked because I did but I also had no idea what I was doing. It's never too late to start.

I have it recorded to watch later, I enjoy watching tennis. I actually got to see Monfils play live at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami. He's so entertaining to watch!
Who do you think is going to make it to the finals?
I'm a FedHead. I'm bummed he and Monfils couldn't finish their match, but I'm glad they played part of it at least, so that I could watch. I desperately want him to win another Slam. Last year's Wimbledon was amazing, but hard to watch for him. However, win or lose, he still loves playing, so I still love watching him.
I like all the other top guys as well (I'm a big del Potro fan, but he's kinda disappeared), including Rafa, but I think Rafa's run at the French is over. I expect Djokovic to win.

Del Potro is my favorite on the men's side in recent years--been a huge fan since seeing him at the Legg Mason in 2008 (even forgave him for beating Isner and Haas--two of my other favs). I really hope this last wrist surgery got it right and he can come back strong. I love having more players around that can beat the other top players. Even when I like the player, I dislike when anyone too dominant.
I'm watching the continuation of Fed/Monfils live now--didn't open this thread yesterday as I watched on a delay after spending the day gardening. Monfils is the only player DH ever asks about--we saw him at the Aussie Open and DH likes watching him play. Also saw Nadal (amazing live, although not as entertaining watching him dismiss people in the first week).
I would like to see Wimbledon move Azarenka up in the seeds.
I took lessons and played as a kid (although never really good, I was decent at the net but that was it). I messed up my knees in my early 20s and the one time I tried to play after that was too painful to ever try again.

This 100%. I started playing tennis when I was 29 and had never ever been in a tennis court. I will not say that I am great now since I train for a few months fall off the wagon and go back again. It did spark the love for tennis in DD and she started training when she was 4 for fun and started being a bit more serious now (2 hours / 4 days a week) so I do spend a lot of my time at the sports complex.
You can always learn! This is why I get my butt kicked by women twice my age several times each week!
Serena and Sloane almost made me go mental. Mugaruza (hey, I spelled that right!), is looking good on clay. Let's go 20!
On the men's side, Wednesday night is shaping up to be exciting, but losing a set to Jack Sock (who should be really happy with the overall performance), is not confidence building. I'm torn. I want Novak to get his French. I don't want Rafa to lose. As long as Stan W, loses, I can live with any of the others winning.
I'll even pull for Jo-Will, who has (or did) have questionable positions on the ladies' tour
Me! I keep up when I can. I <3 Federer! Side note, he's the only man I'd leave Mr. Kirkette for. Mr.Kirkette knows this, and refuses to take me to Indian Wells. LOL
DH and I have been talking about going to Indian Wells for a couple of years (easy drive from Phoenix), but haven't yet. Maybe next March.

If he confirms for the Cincinnati tournament we are heading up in August. Can't pass up a possible last opportunity to see him play.

I went to Indian Wells in maybe like 2006? It was with a friend who is a HUGE tennis fan. He's been to Australia and is going to Wimbledon this year. Also, Lleyton Hewitt is his absolute favorite, so he's thinking about going back to Australia next year to see him 1 last time before he retires! Anyway, I don't really follow tennis, but being with such a big fan at Indian Wells was really fun.
On my best day, I couldn't play like Serena with the flu. Credit to Timea. She played well, especially through the drama llama that is Serena not feeling well.
So, Safarova needed to dump Berdych to play to her potential. Thanks, Martina for that insight. Don't get me wrong, I will take that over the NBC coverage.
Murray could grab it tomorrow. And anyone but Stan is my position, so go Jo Willie

I love Andy too, but I just don't see him beating Novak. I am rooting SO HARD for Novak to win it all. And I totally want Stan to get to the final but I will be pissed as hell if he wins. He hasn't put in the time yet!

Just finished watching the men's final (DVR) and all I can really say is that I was thrilled to see my all time favorite clay-court player on the court today. Yep, I still love you Guga!
I wanted Novak to win, but overall I don't have an issue with Stan winning (and he did play lights out today). I prefer it when more than 3 people *can* win the majors.
