While jm's budget post was a bit snarky, maybe if you post your income after taxes and your expenses here, we can help you organize it a little so you don't feel so underwater. I know some of the ladies on Money Matters did that for me when I was going through my divorce and while I didn't take every suggestion, I did take some and it really helped.
This is not to judge or say, "Hey quit smoking and you'd save big bucks!" But sometimes there are things you have in your budget that you don't think about, but they add up.
If you are comfortable, I'd be happy to look at it. And I am sure several others on here would as well.

I'm sure there are quite a few of us who would be willing to look it over if you're comfortable with that. I know I had my dad look over mine right after the divorce to be sure that everything was in line.
Maybe SO also needs a 12 week Budget Challenge, LOL. I'd be game for it too. I'm dropping major coin on my dog's emergency surgery today, so it's gonna be ramen for the rest of the month.

I would love to do this. Can we schedule it for after we've bought all the paint and furniture for the house? Because the world revolves around meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Why don't we wait until at least a month into the fitness challenge? I've only got so much will power to go around and I want those habits set first. There's all kinds of research that says trying to do it all at once sets you up to fail, but staggering the starts sets you up for really keeping the habits and success with the change. How's September 1st sound? Then at least we start at the beginning of a month?

I absolutely love this finance forum www.savingadvice.com/. It has blogs, articles, and such that are encouraging, clear, simple and organized. The people on that forum have been on that site for many years and are the friendliest group I have ever encountered. This site is made for regular people who want to learn to live below their means and budget to achieve their goals and like. I used to have 60k in debts and that group rooted for me the whole way while I paid every cent off.
I am no longer on this forum but I just checked in today and still see the same friendly users. Maybe this site can be of help for you. It is actually a fun and encouraging site.

Thank you!! I will post my info in another thread because I need some time to organize it.

Yes. Organize and post. It is always good to have a second set of eyes. I was able to live for over two years on $4400 a month, a $2400 a month rent bill and a $900 a month preschool bill. Left me less than $1000 for everything else and I made it work with no child support or alimony. It was hard, but it can be done.
I have done this too. MM didn't have much advice for me, but it felt good to know that I was budgeting the best I could (I have $45 extra a month right now)
I am an accountant and I actually enjoy helping people figure out budgets and the best way to save. Investments are something I definitely need help on.
