What's happening on this gloomy morning? If you have sun, mind sending some my way?
We hosted 80 people at our house yesterday and I need to recover. The house is trashed in spite of two people helping so much with cleaning last night. The dishes alone will take hours. Plus scrubbing floors, etc. The party was a success and everyone had a good time. But I'm glad it's over. Lol.
Also I had found a required textbook on a fb garage sale site for $2 a couple months ago. Now in the move I can't find it and class starts today. I'm gonna have to shell our $45 now to get it
80 people? No way! I can barely handle 10 without going crazy.
Apparently the bug spray my mom sprayed me with Saturday night at the Bon fire didn't work. I have so far counted 12 bug bites so far.
Yesterday we were at the firehouse cleaning. I am so sore today. I ended up cooking lunch for everyone and the person who last used the grill didn't clean it. Even after I cleaned it the grill caught on fire. I kinda thought it was funny that the fire house grill caught fire at the fire house. It was only a grease fire so it went out pretty quickly plus it burned off all the grease so it's clean now for next time.
My office is in the front of our house so I keep the blinds closed pretty much at all times. I heard someone drive by a little while ago, but didn't bother to look out. Then my BFF called and said she had left something in my mailbox. It's a box full of goodies and asks if I will be her bridesmaid! I already said yes months ago, but I guess she decided to get Pinterest-y with it. We are going BM dress shopping at the beginning of July and I'm so excited
what gloomy? we finally have some sun! first sunny day we've had this whole spring! I don't wanna share!
I have today off, and I thought I had to work tomorrow but when I checked my calendar, I'm off tomorrow too, so that was a pleasant surprise! no appointments or anything, so I slept in this morning and I'll sleep in tomorrow morning too. I do have a list of stuff to do though: pick up more paint, clean the house, do the laundry, and pick up DH's prescription from the doctor.
The most people I ever hosted was about 15. 80 is a ton! I would stock up on lots of paper plates and plastic cutlery - there is no way I'd attempt to use real dishes for that many people.
I feel like we should have a gathering soon...it's been years. But I'm not sure when that will happen.
I didn't want to put this in the what are you looking forward to this week thread because I didn't want to be a Debbie downer, but I have my beta tomorrow after my IUI 2 weeks ago, and I am looking forward to getting it over with. I took an frer yesterday at 12 dpo and it was negative, and now I feel like I'm getting my period, so I know it will be negative tomorrow. I just want to know for sure so I can move on to the next cycle.
mac08 So many hugs...any chance it could still be early?
Thanks MrsMB... I mean I suppose it's possible that it was too early but there's not a very good chance of that. According to this chart I found online 82% of pregnant people get a positive by 12 dpo, so I just don't think it's very likely I am among the 18% who get a positive at a later date

I should probably clarify. The 80 people was during the span of four hours. We had an open house baby shower. So at any given moment I think 50 was the max on our property.
@moonbeam I did use all paper goods, but every single serving spoon and mixing bowl I own is dirty. Plus some pans.
mac08 *hugs* I hope you're in the 18% still. Someone has to be! Was this your first IUI?
I have a weekly conference call at 2 so I'm going to spend it walking in circles around my dining room table in an effort to get my Fitbit steps in. At least I'm dressed appropriately (see OOTD thread.)
I work for 9 hours today. Got off a little bit ago. H works until 330 then we have lots and lots of errands to run together! then dinner prep and lots of relaxing this evening
It's been a productive day...lots of cleaning, laundry, working on father's day presents, went for a walk, made C some food...on top of hanging with C.
I was having a good day until I talked to my mom. She said that she is likely going to move to another city (same one I convinced her against when she move 6 months ago) to live near here aunt so they can take care of each other. I know this is because of DH's desire to move. I told her we wouldn't move for another 1-2 years so long as she is here but I feel like that doesn't matter...if her aunt decides to stay my mom will move (aunt is currently in OR looking to move close to her daughter which wouldn't be ideal for er bu necessary if my mom doesn't move there). I'm sick to my stomach over this...it's over an hour away (no traffic) and I just want to be able to be here for my mom and let her see C as much as possible. But she has to do what is best for her, just wish things were the same as 6 months ago and we would all stay here indefintely. If she moves I can see us moving sooner too...it wouldn't affect distance from her.
Oh and I DH is working late all week so I'm solo with C...hoping he decides to take some decent naps (no luck so far today)...he's extra clingy and fussy and it's too hot to go for walks in the afternoon (amaranth- I'll gladly send you some sun!).
It's finally cool and rainy today. H gets really cranky when it's too warm and it's been 85+ degrees in our house lately because we don't have AC. I hope this cooler whether sticks around for a while.
