This is out of control. With a few exceptions, I've done almost everything home improvement related myself. I still have a bunch of projects and I haven't even moved in yet.
I just picked up yet another project piece. The most fantastic solid oak table with claw feet! And the look I'm settled on requires so much effort. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!

Well, if you really want an intervention, it might be useful to point out that the DIY'er you're following finished the project, opted for a completely new look, sold it and replaced it with a new table.
I can't help you. I can only sympathise and say that unfortunately, the DIY projects never stop and eventually your house will be filled with half finished projects.
I still have every intention of refinishing my dining room table. That I bought 4 years ago. Now I just sew new tablecloths for it.

That lady is crazy. She also has a little dinette table that has been redone like 4 times.
Thankfully I'm not the type to spend a ton of effort on something just to redo it again.
I redid ours to look similarly to your after. It wasn't bad. I didn't strip the bottom- just painted it. I did use an electric sander and strip the top- it probably had 5 coats of poly on it, so it took forever. But I LOVE it now, so totally worth it. I get compliments on it often.
