@/CEP related: Last night was the Kindergarten performance at school. I'm in a military town, so the kids sang God Bless the USA, then handed out flags to all who serve/have served (pretty much everyone). I am such a sucker, and was using all of my strength to not cry, LOL.

My teacher made us sing that while my dad was deployed. My poor mom!
i just found out about a show that i REEEEEEEAAALLLLY want to go to. it's basically 2 rock photographers (Pattie Boyd and Henry Diltz, if you're into that) doing an exhibition/presentation of their images. I WANT TO GO.
the problem? i bought tickets to the same venue for H for our anniversary and that show (Bob Mould) is 4 days later. i can't email him about my show without him finding out about HIS show and there's no way we can go to this place twice in 4 days.
I WANNA GO!!!
but i'll be happy with going to see Bob Mould. he's the tits.
New boss started this week. I am buried under new responsibilities right now, but I really, really, really like him. For example, every year our office closes for a bit and goes to a local food fest for a lunch this time of year. Secretary emailed boss a few weeks ago asking about permission. He called secretary this morning, apologized for not getting back sooner and said everyone must go, don't worry about workloads right now. She said we'd be back by one, and he said this isn't something you rush, go and enjoy.
Guilt-fee gyros, baklava, and honey puffs are coming right up
We have three interviews today for a position in my department. One was great, one was like pulling teeth, and now I'm eating a cupcake while I wait for the third one.
I just finished editing another chapter for my book and did so while sitting in our screened-in porch. Our house is one of several on a nice little pond that currently has one of the neighbor kids paddleboating on it, and there are tons of geese walking around. It feels like my office is in a park. THIS is how people are supposed to work. Even grading papers is less terrible this way.

I reconnected with one of my very best friends from college via FB last night. I lost track of her over 20 years ago, so I'm beyond excited to be in touch with her again. She actually lives only 2-3 hours from me, so I hope we can get together soon.
