Highs - we had an awesome weekend in Stratton Mountain, Vermont for my bff's sister's wedding. It was an absolute blast, except that their baby woke us up each morning. But, she did sleep in until 8am and she is too cute to be mad at. We shared a 2b/2bath condo with them. We also did some outlet shopping and I got some nice stuff.
Lows - I am kind of just overall, tired and spent. I need to lay low this weekend and catch up on some sleep.
Food - we had really good buffalo chicken pizza at 1am after the wedding.

Went to BIL/SIL Friday night to see the new baby. Cute, but was grumpy/tired and cried a lot. I held her she simmered down, so that's a plus.
Saturday we went into Boston to see Michael Franti and Spearhead playing at the House of Blues. There was also a Red Sox game, so the bar scene was fun before the show.
Sunday we did errands, gardening, grilling, drinking, wedding, reading.
ETA: Best thing I ate- The grilled BBQ chicken wings
Highs - went out Friday night with a bunch of people and didn't get home until almost 3am, but I still got up and cleaned my entire apartment Saturday morning! Sunday I met BFF for pedicures then we met two other friends for dinner.
Lows - none that I can think of...
Best food - I made this for dinner for myself on Saturday:
Grilled swordfish with olive gremolata and roasted asparagus with garlic

Had great times with my friends and met a new friend Saturday that was a lot of fun to chat with. BF also went w me to P.P.2 and I laughed my ass off.. then got the soundtrack for my iPod.
The only real low was just some trouble sleeping, nothing major.
Highs: Dinner on Saturday was awesome. We ate from 6:30pm-1:30am! I'm pretty sure I won't need to eat again for a week. Food porn (this is missing photos of the fish & polenta and braised rabbit courses. Also the 8 bottles of wine we consumed.):
Lows: On my way home from work on Friday, I was stopped at an intersection and the car to my right turned and hit an old man crossing the street right in front of me. I called 911 and stayed to make a report to the police. I'm pretty sure he will be okay, he was able to walk into the ambulance with assistance and was answering questions, etc. but man it was so scary. I felt bad for the guy who hit him also, he wasn't doing anything crazy, wasn't on his phone or anything, just a middle-aged guy driving with two kids in the car and didn't see the pedestrian until it was too late. I feel like it could have happened to anyone.

Highs: got [most of] my house work done and managed to fit in 4 movies and an afternoon trip to the neighboring town. Oh, and I actually lost weight over the weekend even though we ate out for every meal. >smaller portions
Lows: It's getting to the point where everything H does annoys me. I feel bad for being relieved that he'll be gone next week.

This is giving me flashbacks. I do not feel bad for the driver. If the guy was crossing in front of you and the car was to your right, how did he not see him?? Of course accidents can happen to anyone, and it sucks. I hope the pedestrian is okay.

It wasn't particularly memorable but I did have a much needed full body massage and had drinks with my BFF.
sapphire bou , I'm sorry you are feeling annoyed and I totally get that way sometimes where I feel like my tongue hurts from biting it so often. Hopefully having some time alone while he's away will be just what you need to recharge your mindset to start focusing on the positives instead of the negatives in your relationship.
glw , you that dinner looks amazing and you are so awesome for calling and staying to help with the report. That would shake me up even just as a witness.
Yeah, I understand it's entirely possible he really didn't see him, milsaroo, and obviously this is a hot button issue for me. I get just as pissed at pedestrians who cross the street without the right of way. Anyone who has walked anywhere with me at this point has probably had the experience of crossing a street, looking back and finding that I'm waiting for the signal, ridiculous or not. LOL
I'm just picturing this old man shuffling across the street, so in the driver's initial glance to the left, the guy must have been in the crosswalk already for him to be that far across at the time the driver actually made the turn. If he was crossing from glw's right instead of left, that is even worse because he was watching traffic to the left without doing a last minute check to his right before moving.
Pretty sure this scenario is why there is no right turn on red anywhere in NYC.
Highs: We paid off the cruise we're going on in September! And purchased our beverage (booze) packages.
Lows: Nothing, really.
Food: California wrap - field green, roasted red peppers, bleu cheese, avocado, red onion, grilled chicken with a champagne vinaigrette; and I tried a new (to me) IPA that was yummy.
The car in front of me stopped at the stop sign and the pedestrian started across the intersection from my left. Then the guy to my right started turning left and the pedestrian was about halfway across, just off my drivers' side bumper. Technically there is no crosswalk there (no painted lines) but he did cross at an intersection. There's no crossing light there either. Both streets are one way.

Highs: Had a lot of fun at a housewarming party for some friends; got some stuff done around the house Lows: The Blackhawks lost (I'm not huge into hockey, but I really wanted to see them win again in Tampa because of their ridiculously stupid "no Blackhawks gear" rule they were trying to impose for fans) Best thing I ate: lemon-grilled asparagus with orzo and feta
Ohhhh, thanks glw! When you said the car to your right I assumed you were on a bigger road and the car was next to you. See how biased our experiences can make us?! lol
I got hit by someone taking a left from a one way, and I was crossing from the far side, too. That could've been pretty much the exact diagram, except I had a crosswalk/signal. So I vote no excuse - there's no oncoming traffic to worry about, all you have to do is look right in front of you (although milsaroo's comment re: blind spot makes more sense in this context) I would bet a substantial sum that the kids distracted the driver, which I'm fairly certain was the case with my accident, too. BRE!!!
Highs: Friday was awesome. DH was off, we went hiking, took Rox for a long walk, then went to an outdoor concert with a friend in from OOT. Even though he worked Saturday, I enjoyed it, by going hiking again, sitting outside and reading, etc.
Lows: Yesterday sucked. We had a microburst come through mid-afternoon that knocked out our power for 12 hours. Trees down in our subdivision, streets flooded, a gas leak two blocks away. Power finally came on early this morning, but Comcast is down all day, so no Internet/cable/Netflix. Boo. I am at Panera using their WiFi for the time being.
Best thing I ate: Salted caramel pretzel ice cream
