CHOO CHOO
7 hrs Only a short time before I am sending my baby boy to school as a 1st grader and he will be coming home after a 1/2 day as a 2nd grader. How the heck did that happen?! Now if I could just write tonight. I'm still debating on whether or not to send the queries off to a traditional publisher or keep doing it all myself. Aside from the fact that I can't really afford to pay a graphic artist to do up book covers, or an editor that dig down deep and get all the things Editor and I miss when we edit, I kind of like doing it all myself. Of course, I would have an editor and cover artist readily available through a traditional publisher. At least I think I would. Better marketing as well. Also for the fact that I write whatever comes to me, which would put each work in a different genre. Most YA/teen, but in different categories under that. Decisions, decisions. Good thing I still have plenty of time to figure out what I want to do.
Usual Enabler: Try it once. See if it gets you better attention
Boring: Well, once I finish the draft I have to send out queries to agents and/or publishers. I have been really thinking about it. I thought about it the first time around, but then found createspace. My only problem is I feel I don't write a good description about what my books are about. I would really love to have better exposure and be able to do book signings at events, and even attend Bookcon. It's hard to find close YA book signing events to join. Most are romance or fantasy.
Also, bonus random status: June 8 at 11:59pm I'm pretty sure my one toe under the nail is black and blue. Actually more like purple. Not sure how, but it hurts.

Where in the country does 2nd grade only go a half day? Also, it's nice to reasearch how publishers and the industry actually work. "Of course, I would have an editor and cover artist readily available through a traditional publisher. At least I think I would." Any why would you be trying to find book signing events close to you when nobody even reads your stuff? I have so many questions for BMW.

Lol she can't even fucking write a coherent fb post. Pretty sure she meant his last day of first grade was a 1/2 day, after which he's then a 2nd grader
She's FB friends with her "editor", too, isn't she?
"Hmmmm, I really ought to get an ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL who would get all the stuff YOU MISS. Though I just acknowledged that you do me this favor FOR FREE."

This isn't the first time she's commented on how crappily her books are edited. Her editor is her BFF 4evs, but strangely never comments on those things.
Also, she doesn't 'edit' her work FOR FREE, Boring pays her in books. That, as someone on ML pointed out, Editor has already read. When she 'edited' them.

OH! That makes sense after you explained it. I doubt I could get past page 1 of one of her "books".

So in a single sentence she managed to denigrate her editor friend's efforts and then erase them altogether? How does one manage to "do it all herself" if she has an editor?
