I'm actually shocked at the number of Amex cards. I hate mine because they require DH and I to have two different card numbers on the same account So if he buys something and needs to return it, whoever returns it (usually me) has to have the card it was purchased on in their possession. Plus, our accounts are separate online so to see his card activity, I have to log into his account separately when I'm doing bills/budget stuff. Annoying.
hmmmm, I can see all of our activity but I am the primary on the account.
Hyatt Visa, thanks to recommendations on here. I like that it doesn't have fees internationally and we get one free night a year. Fee is $89 I think. Delta Amex Reserve. If I spend 60k a year, I get 30k MQMs which is enough to get me silver status without ever flying. This year I might make platinum status which would be awesome! Another perk, free access to Delta Skyclub lounges (I can bring two guests) and an annual companion ticket. Fee is $450.
You also get 2 free nights at any Hyatt in the world when you sign up and make one purchase, so we got the card, paid the $89 or whatever fee, put $5 on it, and are staying for free for 2 nights at the Grand Hyatt in SF, which is normally $300 or so a night.
We use the Chase Sapphire for everything except Delta tickets and for those we use the Delta Amex.
I think we are CC twins. I also have a chase sapphire but I don't really use it (10 yr history).

Yeah, Amex works the same for us as any other CC. We are both users on the same account.

Interesting. Maybe H is the primary. I'll have to look into this. Do you both have the same card number? They told us that wasn't an option and the cards had to be different numbers.

I find this annoying too, but I still love the cash rewards we get. I just sign in using dh's log-in info so I can see all the activity. OP we have the Amex Blue Cash Preferred card
We have an Amex Gold charge card that we use for as much stuff as possible. I can transfer the points for hotel rewards (ie our Starwood account) or miles (Delta converts 1:1).
We also have a Marriott Visa card that we use wherever Amex isn't accepted.
I also have the Amex Starwoods and the Amex Delta Skymiles that I never closed. They have pretty high limits so I just leave them alone.
