I had my two week post-surgery check up and I asked when I could start swimming. He said as soon as the incision heals. I can actually swim, swim. Light kicking or use of a pull buoy and let pain be my guide. And of course be careful getting in and getting out of the pool.
We were holding off on an outdoor pool membership because of my injury and weren't sure if we would be able to use it. I am mailing the check tomorrow!
I am so relieved!
I don't anticipate swimming much at first, 10 minutes at the most. The dr said he really wants me to be moving my ankle!
I can start running in 4 months. I asked about biking and I can, but in the meantime I have clipless pedals and there is no way I can clip in or out with pain or pressure. I might get flat pedals, but not now. Swimming first!

That is awesome news! As for the bike shoes, could you clip in that shoe and just put your foot in it once you are on the bike? Assuming you are on a trainer for now.

Right now I'm not even going to mess around. I'm too scared.
