If you're staying at a hotel in New York and eating/drinking only at the hotel bar/restaurants, you're doing it wrong That said, I've been to a bunch of Serafina's (not that one, but a bunch of others) and they're good, but I think very expensive for what they are.
That's a great (residential) neighborhood and there are lots of good bars and restaurants around, but you'd be a bit far from most of the tourist attractions. Not sure how much that matters to you.
